1. I had a thought about this

Why didn't she keep her mouth shut (and the publisher as well) about the book until it had already been released?

I know that the publisher wants to generate buzz, but it also invites the legal intervention.

Anybody out there have any thoughts?

7. That makes sense

It's the "Streisand effect". As with so many things with Trump, he directs attention to things that would be better left ignored.

10. I think you answered your own question.

If you want people to be interested in something, get it banned (temporarily).

4. On what basis is this being blocked?

Can't just be the NDA. The NDA would set out damages if it was breached.

8. None, apparently. But it's just a temporary injunction, sort of an

"ok, let's hold off for a minute or two and see what we've got here" thing.

Simon & Schuster has just as many lawyers as Rump. What's more, they're competent. I'm not worried yet.

Disclaimer: No, I'm nowhere near a lawyer. Just trying to pay attention in my ignorant layman's way.

9. Do we know anything about this judge?

They're obviously judge shopping as this same ploy was just shot down by another judge.

12. I haven't been able to find a name, but FWIW it's a state court.

Rump doesn't get to appoint state court judges, so there's that.

For those looking for some background: https://www.courthousenews.com/trump-family-ask-second-court-to-block-tell-all-book/

It's just delaying the inevitable. One way or another, it'll get out there.

14. I think it will be published on time.

It might be as simple as this lowly state court judge wants a moment in the spotlight.

15. Off the top of my head, this is different court/county/city than the last attempt to stop the book

I'm pretty sure the brother and his lawyer are trying to find a more sympathetic venue.

19. We may have to buy the Canadian edition, or the UK edition.

Like all attempts to ban a book, it will find a way to the daylight.
