What Russia did here is literally unprecedented. Also, the Taliban has been (apparently) working in at least loose collusion with Russia. Which needs to be taken into account.

Our intelligence needs to coordinate with international intelligence and figure out the reality of this situation before moving forward on any fronts. We're being played like fools here on all fronts is the easy takeaway.
