NSW MP's Sydney home raided as ASIO probes China links

Counter-espionage agency ASIO is conducting a sweeping investigation into allegations Chinese government agents have infiltrated the office of a NSW Labor politician to influence Australian politics.

Multiple sources aware of the foreign interference investigation said it was scrutinising the office of NSW Labor MP Shaoquett Moselmane as part of one of the most significant inquiries in recent ASIO history.

As part of the inquiry, the federal police raided properties linked to Mr Moselmane on Friday morning, searching for evidence to support allegations of a Chinese government plot unfolding on Australian soil.

The sources said if sufficient evidence was found, the inquiry could ultimately result in an Australian and world first: a prosecution for foreign interference offences arising from an alleged covert Chinese Communist Party plot to influence a serving politician.

Wray: The FBI is opening a new counterintelligence investigation that ties back to China [about] every 10 hours.

Also, he makes this clear:

Wray: This is not about the Chinese people or Chinese Americans. This is about the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party. They are pursuing a campaign of intellectual property theft, economic espionage, [and] cyber intrusions that target businesses big and small.

Actually, most (r)epuglicons are on someone else's payroll. Much more allegiance to others than to their constituents.

in order to make Canada reneg on its extradition treaty with the US on a case where a Chinese businesswoman lied to congress (she travelled to canada on business and was held at the request of the US). Then Trump doesn't care about Stone or Flynn lying to the FBI so why are we alone in holding up standards in Canada? Because we believe democracy takes lots of work and care. You have to fight for it. Because you don't give in to kidnappers. No doubt this crazy Chinese administration want a weak Trump to win re-election. And now interference in Australia. Donald Trump proved the western democracies were much more vulnerable to corruption than previously thought. And China is going to town on it. Russia too. Everyone should be required to read "Behind the Beautiful Forevers" by Katherine Boo. True story of what corruption is like for the poor in a mumbai slum. It blew my mind. And is very timely. The haves exploiting the have nothings. What anywhere would become if you don't root out corruption every day and in every way.

A link to that book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behind_the_Beautiful_Forevers

Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity is a non-fiction book written by the Pulitzer Prize-winner Katherine Boo in 2012. It won the National Book Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize among many others.[1][2] It has also been adapted into a play by David Hare in 2014, shown on National Theatre Live in 2015.[3] The book describes a present-day slum of Mumbai, India, named Annawadi, and located near the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. It follows the interconnected lives of several residents, including a young trash picker, a female "slumlord," and a college student.[4] The author is an American woman who often visited Mumbai with her husband, who was from the area and had a job in the city.

Trudeau under high-profile pressure to end Huawei exec's extradition, even if it rankles Trump

Nineteen prominent Canadians sent a letter to the prime minister this week calling on him to instruct his justice minister to free Meng Wanzhou.

-----------

Stories a while back were questoning Huawi, 5G, & the reach of Foreign data collection.

Just curious. Trying to place China in global corruption & intel is way above my level, but I try!

Remember who bailed in the US right after Trump won in 2016?

Peter Theil. He got a quickie Citizenship in New Zeland & took up residence.
Somehow I believe its all related where corruption, paybacks & 1 & 2 remaining global mob nations vie for dominance over the others.

Trick is to know who's side the high stakes players are on.

I can't imagine a visual aid showing the lines of connections throughout the world. And that's just for China.
We'd have to see another with Russia, Middle East, Africa South America & wherever dictatorial & transnational criminal networks have their long reach.

No wonder the goal of seating Trump was so lucrative to evil operatives.
The US has always been the guiding force that small Democracies relied on to keep their sovergnity against oppressors.

We must absolutely be that power for good in the future, now that the depth of corruption & hate has been brought right before our eyes.
It really is all about good vs evil in the end.

Cripe, we've got a lot on the to-do list. 🥂
