Conservatives rail against ballot measure to require sick time

There's a proposed ballot in Orange County (FL) that would require businesses to offer sick time to their employees. Sounds reasonable, doesn't it?

Not if you're a conservative. Remember, these are the same people who don't think that racism and poverty exist in this country. They think that the only reason people want sick time is so they can call in on Mondays.

Their sick time plan dovetails nicely with their health care plan. Don't get sick. If you do get sick, die quickly.

Workers are not greatful to someone that's giving them money their money to perform a task, now they DEMAND more money, more paid leave and more healthcare.

It's about IRRESPONSIBLE LIES from PART TIME WORKERS who simply don't want to pull a shift on any given day...and the COST which will be PASSED ALONG TO YOU!

People that get sick all the time put extra pressure on their team-mates. They should be FIRED not PAID! Why should their team-mates have to bear the burden of their incompetence and inability to work ?

Have you ever heard someone brag about never taking a sick day, how they dragged themselves into work no matter how bad they were feeling? I know I have.

Because that's soooo much better...infecting the rest of your co-workers (and possibly the public in general depending on your job) is preferable to taking a day or two to get healthy.
