Not a single Romney bumper sticker or sign in my neck of the woods

I live in the reddest of red counties/cities in Texas (Collin County) and last night I ventured out to the other side of town to go to movie..usually everything I do/need is within a few miles radius of my home. Not a single Romney bumper sticker, sign, or other shred of evidence that this is a Presidential election year.

Now, people may use the following excuse: since the majority of residents know that it is a bright, solid red place, they don't feel a need to display their support, etc...

Except...4 yrs ago McCain/Palin shit was ALL over the place. Bumpers, yard signs, huge ass signs on backyard fences facing busy main streets all over the city.

This time around: not a peep.

Don't get me wrong, I know this county is not gonna go blue. But if this lack of enthusiasm is any indication of what the overall repuke party is going through right now, there very well may be a low voter turnout on their part across the nation come Election Day no matter much money the Koch brothers, etc put out.

Which would be an improvement. Obama outperformed Kerry in Collin, and Kerry outperformed Gore. Maybe a small trend that would make Collin competitive in 2020?

The President's team is playing a far better ground game than Romney. The other night Rachel Maddow was discussing this very issue and gave this example: In Ohio, the Obama campaign has opened 75 offices, Romney has opened a grand total of 7!

the company with several million dollars of debt, forcing it into bankruptcy making it necessary to outsource all Republican 2012 political bumper sticker/car magnet manufacturing to a Chinese company, also owned and controlled by Bain Capital.

When pressed for a comment, Mitt Romney simply stated, "It's complicated".

I live in a very conservative neighborhood in a liberal city in a blue state. There are mostly elderly people and families. In 2008, I walked by lots of McCain/Palin signs. I haven't seen any Romney/Ryan signs. I see some republican signs for local elections like congress and state senator but no president. People just don't seem to like Romney very much.

That yard had a huge 5 foot tall sign for the state senate, so I take it he's a hardcore Republican. Other than that, I've seen 2 stickers for Romney and about 6 for Obama.

This time last election there were signs everywhere! This time? Basically nothing.

Grand theft campaign money! You can have all that money in the bank but you need the bodies in the polling booths to win (outside of stealing it, which they have done in the past).

I saw a single Rmoney sticker on a converted pickup a couple week ago in downtown Philly but haven't seen anything else since. Meanwhile the Obama lawn signs have been popping up like buttercups!

And agree that by a week or so after their 2008 convention, the McLame signs and stickers were all around in the few red sections of Philly.

4 years ago and beyond, all the leviathan SUVs around here were festooned with McCain or "W" stickers/decals. I've not seen even a single Romney one yet, though the airwaves of TV ( as little as I'm exposed to it beyond my control ) are absolutely cluttered with pro-Romney ads.

While most in my circle of friends/co-workers/acquaintances seem to be anti-Obama, that is those that bring up politics in the first place are. I'm getting the feeling the quieter ones may actually vote for Obama inside the curtain, but give the subtle impression they're more conservative than they are just to go along with the herd.

I remember when MCain whipped out the word "festooned" during one of the debates and it became the talk of DU.

Only a couple Romney bumper stickers. Lots of Robinson vs DeFazio signs.

I think Romney's Mormonism is an issue for many conservatives.

It was on a van that had those stupid little decal drawings of family members. The drawings were of a woman with a briefcase, three little girls and two dogs. Yikes. Low or no information voter. The again, maybe not a voter but just a poser. It made me sad to see someone backing a candidate who does not have her daughter's interests in mind.....let alone her dogs'.
