but what I think I'm seeing is that these protests are going to backfire on the assholes who want them to turn violent. More and more of them seem to be peaceful, and we're even seeing police mix with the protestors.

1. seems like the white supremacists

were called off for a spell. Maybe too many were getting caught. There have been some interesting articles..most of these guys don't match my stereo-type. This is from Chicago a couple of days ago

2. Yeah, if they weren't effective at rousing up the peaceful demonstrators,

there wasn't much point in them being there, especially after people and the media (and the cops) started catching on.

3. They realized that their on-line organizing is being monitored...

and tracked. Various LEO's have been arresting people based on their social media posts organizing and promoting the violent hijacking of the demonstrations. Time to crawl back in their holes and find a new way to do it.

at least the small-fry didn't...but they're expendable. I wonder if any of them know each other off-line?

4. We're seeing real strength of decency and support

among Americans for both putting an end to police murder of minorities and replacing the GOP's renegade extremism with Democratic control in most places. When I think of that I feel encouraged. Left alone, we would undoubtedly choose what was right and sensible.

But we're not left alone. When I remember that extremely powerful enemies, foreign and domestic, have been plotting and getting ready at least dual tracks of oversetting our national elections and/or destroying our nation altogether, I am frightened. Any city or region could quickly be brought to submission, scrabbling for survival, by cutting off the water, food, energy. Communications.

That they will try other dangerous attacks is without doubt. How successful they will be...? We're both more strongly united than they guessed, I'm sure, and also still have the vulnerabilities they're exploiting.
