The tires have come off the Clown Car

After being with all the turmoil in our land, seeing the incredible outpouring of fighting against injustices, especially for the black community, in the last few days, it seems like we were heading to a completely uncharted territory for our Democracy.

One that was going to be something of beauty for all Americans- a true Democracy- not beholding to any kind of past nightmares, such as our historical attachment of slavery- or one of an authoritarian Darkness.

But when Gen. Mattis, and many more in the Military world are saying- No Way- we may be heading towards something different.

I came to realize that there was what may be considered something more intermediary. Not something that was radically revolutionary- like a solid society, where all are considered equal, or everyone is suppressed by some Dictator.

The handwriting is here. With the recent cratering of Republicans ability to retain the White House, due to incredible drops in the polls for Trump in all the states that they had considered safe in the past, such as Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, Iowa, and more, They are now realizing that hitching their wagon to the Megalomaniac isn't a sure bet as they thought it would be. The absolute lack of Republican leaders to comment on these recent events to any degree and he passing by of reporters asking questions says that something is afoot. Where is Mike Pence?

The loss margins may even be beyond their ability to "cheat" on the voting system to compensate.

The Republicans have been using the Trump base/phenomenon to move their agenda forward. Now they are at risk of not only losing the White House but also control of the Senate and maybe even any ability to be in control of anything of significance, State houses overall included.

It is a true crisis for them They will do what they can to advert a total rout. This is where the strategy shifts. Not to total Authoritarian rule, which doesn't fit with the growing public sentiment, nor to let it collapse towards a true Democracy.

Mitch McConnell is not anyone to trust with Democracy but he is a strategist of devious means, that uses that darkness to drive the Republican agenda. He is now seeing that The Trumpster is a Dumpster fire. His and other Republican shysters silence is suggesting that he is trying to put some kind of tires back on the Clown Car at this time.

I think that they are looking at the timing of the RNC convention and working on a plan to put Mike Pence in as the nominee. This is sort of a last grab at saving the White House. They don't have a lot of time, esp with Drumpf trying to move it from NC. This would probably mean that they would try and get Trump to resign. They would then have Pence in as President and they can move him to do all sorts of nefarious things as President, including pardons. Such is the way that has been demonstrated in the Past- Nixon/Ford.

Just my guess work...

It will be Trump. I believe the Republicans are now looking at 2024, 2028 and the Congressional races in 2022 and beyond. They will recognise that they are going to lose Congress and the executive office in 2020. What they will do is the same as what they did in 2009 - obstruct, obstruct, gaslight, deflect all blame to the Democrats and somehow agitate matters to win one house of Congress in 2022 and pull all the wheels off a Biden presidency.

In a lot of ways to me it is looking like 2008 again, except more extreme.

I posted this if Trump doesn't go along.

McConnell could level the distinct possibility that Trump faces all sorts of legal consequences (past and current). A pardon may alleviate those concerns. And remember this guys Ego. If he losses in the landslide loss he is headed for, he would have a hard time saying anything about him not being a "LOSER".

If Trump doesn't go along with the resignation thing, then McConnell can threaten something he refused to do in the first place. He could ask for Articles of Impeachment from the House and then actually remove him from office.

Sounds strange, but remember, McConnell isn't really a man of principle. He is a man of strategy. This would endure him to those Republicans and Independents who don't like Trump anymore. He would emerge as a Hero, of sorts, in their minds. There are a million ways that McConnell can try and spin that 180 degree change- all lies of course.

He might even try to sell the idea that Republicans "Saved The USA".

Interesting, but if that were to happen, then I suspect that Speaker Nancy would force the GOP members of the House to write them up, present them, argue for them in the House - be the first to Vote on them; Then once they reached the Senate, force the House GOP members to be the lawyers in the case to force impeachment down the throat of the GOP Senate.

I would be laughing my ass off.....because if it happens (regardless of outcome) Trump will go ape-shit crazy against the GOP...and the GOP base still loves him...… I am laughing thinking about it.

Trump is the Republican Party now.

The Republican Senate is paralyzed by fear. They know they are going down. But if the buck trump they get killed in the primary. And will even if he loses the election. He’s not going away. They have few options.

It up to governors and the people now. I used to dislike our federal system where the states are so independent. I was wrong. Our founders understood something I did not. Sovereign states are our ultimate defense against despotism.

I think the only reason he hasn’t been removed already is he got tolerated by giving the GOP tax cuts and judges. He is very poisonous, but removal by other-than-election could very well trigger a rebellion by his armed goons. This, in turn would be met with overwhelming opposition, but it would be utter chaos and would hurt the whole country.

So, I think everyone other than his family in the Trump administration is babysitting him and protecting the National Security of the US. I think if it weren’t for charges waiting for Trump in NY and other states, Trump would have already staged a medical reason to resign and in turn get pardoned by Pence. So, Trump’s in a bind. The Supreme Court May order his taxes and the Grand Jury info released and I believe it would devastate Trump’s campaign even more.

Mitch’s plan may be to try to minimize damage while tiptoeing to the elections. Then, just watch Trump fail and be done with him. If Trump resigns they may try to get Nikki Haley in somewhere. They may try something quick and messy to get Trump out, but convincing his followers it’s good for them will be their greatest challenge.

It's only 5 more months. They may not have foreseen the utter chaos that Floyd being murdered caused, and they have no idea how to fix it. They are trying to hijack the upset and make Trump seem like a manly man, but everything is failing.

Because they wanted and anticipated Trump, they didn't promote anyone else. I believe those that would have run against him were intimidated away. So, now they are stuck.

I am not sure what in hell they are doing with Covid 19. I don't know the meaning of why they are insisting that there be no masks at their convention. I think they are off their rockers. We will probably never know what they were doing stealing the PPEs, or why they were encouraging people to quit wearing their masks.

But, it's all off the rails, now. A lot of public people are emboldened and speaking out against him now. He's going to do something crazy.

Trump would NEVER go quietly. And putting Pence on the ticket would lead to an even bigger rout, because Trump diehards won't go along with that. They'd sit it out.
