For the most part everyone had on a mask, the exceptions always had the same look (white male with a goatee or beard, with a stupid looking hat on wearing sunglasses or the sunglasses was on the hat), all had an arrogant look to them.

(62,406 posts)People wandering around not paying any attention to social distancing or anyone else. I will agree on the general looks of those wh won't wear masks.
Gawd I hate going into Walmart, but they ran everybody else out of business....

(11,686 posts)but every time I am there most are not wearing masks and a lot give you dirty looks for wearing a mask. If you know western Washington state and tell you I live in Lewis County you know exactly what mentality I am talking about.

(21,745 posts)Oddly, our county's confirmed case rate (and death rate) went up five fold in the last two weeks.
I think Spring weather is a big factor.

It took several years for scientists to develop an H1N1 vaccine, but it largely vanished in a year due to the strong plan that President Obama executed. Leadership matters in situations like this.

(512 posts)All associates have to have on masks while in store. No exceptions. Report to 1-800-Wal-Mart if they aren't. I am a screener at Walmart (usually an Optician) during this pandemic.

(31,261 posts)I went to Publix in North-Central Florida, roughly 55-60% of customers were wearing masks. All employees were wearing masks and the cashiers were behind plexiglass.

(4,167 posts)The San Antonio area....its weird, depending on which Wal Mart you go to depends on the mask %.....I go to one Walmart and its like 20/80.....I can go to one 10 minutes the other direction and its 80/20.

(31,261 posts)I have wondered about people that get infected and don't show symptoms. Could SARS-COV-2 set a marker in them? Maybe their first dose was not large, but SAR-COV-2 "prepared" their system for later. The reason why I have that thought is that in 1918-1921, the virus was not remotely as damaging on the first wave, but once in humans it mutated to become more deadly. Could it have been that instead of mutating, it simply revisited the people that were asymptomatic the first time around and killed a lot of them?
