Sorry, but "President Tweety" just doesn't cut it

This is not a knock on our presumptive nominee per se, rather on the entire campaign brain trust. Two reasons:

1. If you're coining a nickname for Trump, go for the jugular FFS. Something that will really penetrate his bath-tissue skin & turn his orange face fire-engine red. President Tweety doesn't begin to accomplish that.

2. Using "President" only reaffirms Trump's status as the incumbent, a position & title my cat (if I had one) is better qualified for. Don't intentionally elevate him above Biden; keep both candidates on the same level (although there is no actual level low enough for Trump).

My fantasy choice is Fat Donnie. It's nasty, it's true (not that it matters anymore), & it would make Trump's hair arrangement catch fire. (Heck, Nancy already called him morbidly obese.) Let the complainers complain & the ranters rant, including those on our side; they will only help spread the meme. My formal proposal, however, is Tweetle Don. At first it sounds benign, but seconds later people will realize it's actually calling Trump Tweedledum. Even Trump will get it & will not like it, to understate dramatically.

Trouble is, we're stuck with President Tweety, because changing it now would be admitting that it was lame from the start & would cause howls of derision to rain both on Biden & the Dems. This has all been an academic exercise, but I just wanted to vent my frustration with my party's undeserved reputation for being a doormat.

1. Never accept being stuck with anything....ignore it and start using something else without apology

THAT is page one of two in the Trump playbook.
Page 2 simply reads "see page 1"...

He simply denies reality continually and people seem all too willing to go along with it.
Short attention span theater at the highest levels of power....what could go wrong?
(Tragically, we now know and its as bad as I feared, the only thing Trump has not done - YET - that I feared on election night 2016 is launch nuclear weapons. And I am certain he will do so before November.)

3. Fat Donnie works. Why are you stuck?

Joe will probably make up others. You can make up others. Itís all in Dumps playbook.

5. Yup. It sounds like a lame sad-trombone retort to a quick-witted bully

The only thing Trump does halfway competently is lowbrow talk radio-style bullying. If you're gonna engage with that, you gotta do it right. Hire a freakin comedian to come up with lines for godsake.

7. I'm not sure I get your point about being stuck with it

He could start using a different nickname tomorrow if he wanted. Oh well, itís all trivial anyway.

13. My thought is that using more than one nickname

dilutes the effect. Choosing one & sticking with it will resonate more with voters. I totally agree that it's all childish, & we shouldn't even be discussing it, but if Biden's gonna play the game, he could've come up with a sharper retort.

15. Yeah, I understand, but on the plus side it's May

So lots of time for things to develop. I find nicknames are best when theyíre organic, otherwise itís a George Costanza situation where youíre trying to get people to call you T-Bone.

8. I do not agree that fat Donnie would be a good name

More importantly, Joe Biden needs a name HE is comfortable with.

President Tweety is pretty good. The contrast between President and all it should normally signify in terms of seriousness and purpose and Tweety, which clearly brings up his absurd tweeting and which diminishes him is very good.

Where President usually conveys respect, put with tweety it conveys how unfit Trump is to have that position. It is hard to attack a sitting President with a nickname, although the base on either side would delight it in. Fat Donnie would diminish the speaker. It is also tricky to use fat in a derogatory way. One reason Corzine lost reelection to Christie was an ad that accused Christie of throwing his weight around as the video was an unflattering view of him getting into a car. Instead of coverage being on the fact that Christie misused his power, the focus was on fat shaming.

9. Fat Donnie

I like it.....I would just add hairpiece at the end, give it a sort of mafia sound. Plus, his head would explode.
My vote is Fat Donnie Hairpiece.

I was trying to avoid directly criticizing our prospective nominee.

11. I think it might be effective.

If you ask Trump supporters what they most dislike about Trump, almost to a person, they say they don't like the way he tweets all the time. So, tactically, it might be a good weapon?

12. Not to mention Tweety was never the bad guy in those cartoons

But no, we're not "stuck" with it. Just drop it. I haven't seen what you're referring to, but it can't be something carved in stone.

I think the image to go for is one of those yappy little dogs with really annoying berserk barks that they unleash for any reason or none.

Because it fits, and the dog part will get under his skin.

There's a ready-made commercial:
"Donald Trump like to pretend he's cool and in control, but the truth comes out every day, day after day..."
And just scroll through his guanopath tweets while yappy dog barks insanely.

16. Not Fat Donnie. It's offensive to the obese, not all of whom are whatever he is.

I'm not sure anymore exactly how to describe him, he's not much of a human, or a man, and dickwad or asshole is just too mild. It's a conundrum, certainly.

20. I think pr. tweety is fine for Biden

Let others, not associated with the campaign, use the low brow names.
