PA's turn: Protest of Gov. Wolf's coronavirus shutdown at Capitol

It's Pennsylvania's turn for dozens of yahoos to swarm together at the Capitol in state Harrisburg to protest shutdown.

Harrisburg is going to be rife with the 'Rona.
Lots of "Don't Tread on Me" flags flying. Lots of camo. NO social distancing. Don't see a lot of masks, even though they are required for all who enter stores, etc. in PA as of Sunday night. A few people are staying in their cars and driving up and down the road.
Lots of COVID-19 being spread. Good going, jerks.
Now we'll be quarantined through the fall because of your actions.
One of the groups backing the protest is a gun-rights group from OHIO.

We all know that this will play out in two or three weeks with a potential spike and then, even more need for shutdowns, distancing and masks.

It's an AstroTurf sandwich slathered with idiocy.

Thanks and welcome to DU!

I've been here on and off since not long after DU began ... but I had to "start over" and change my handle because of email issues.
I remember standing right where those protesters are standing now, in 2004, watching a campaign rally with Dem. nominee John Kerry, whom I was actively campaigning for and canvassing for ... Ben Affleck was there stumping for Kerry that night. It was glorious.
I'm staying far away from Harrisburg for the foreseeable future, because it's gonna be a plague-ridden city after this nonsense.

... Dr. Rachel Levine, who gets all kinds of crap from these yahoos because she's trans. And yet every day, despite all the insults and name-calling online, she's front and center, giving us straight talk and sound medical advice, and answering loads of questions from the media.

All three PA leaders have been calm, reasoned, and avoided controversy. They focus on what is best for the health and welfare of our citizens.

There are areas where we could loosen the shutdown, like construction work while there is less traffic. But we cannot just throw open the doors. Clearly this crowd cannot be trusted to show up at work without masks and without observing physical distance. They may be saying let’s go back to work but most just want an excuse to dress in camo and show off their biggest guns and let off some steam.
