Mc Veigh hadn't been identified as the culprit. It was mentioned in the news that it might have been done by Muslims.
I taught in a mixed school at the time, all kinds of people from all over, really an accident of location of this particular neighborhood school rather than any kind of plan. This mix of people fom all over the world just happened in a Chicago neighborhood. So the local high school had that mix too.

So, two of my best students came up, and they said to me, We are Muslims, we don't believe in this kind of violnce." It was not our people. It is not our religion." They said. It was a high school U.S.Hirtory class.
...That was 17 years ago, and I will never forget it. I knew then as I know now, it is such a small minority that would kill, just as it is a small minority of other religions that would kill.

We already knew.

The most infuriating part of the OKC bombing, other than the utterly senseless nature of it, was how quickly talking heads on the news jumped to the conclusion it had been a Muslim plot.

They still haven't apologized for that. They need to. All of them.

2. You are correct. I wonder how many of those talking heads even know what "Waco" was?

And apologies aren't part of that groups word usage. So many of them are insensitive fools.

3. One of my favorite convenience stores was a block from where I lived and I always went there

for cigs, soda, etc. The owner was Iranian and a lovely man, always with a smile and always so helpful. If a person didn't have enough money he would write it down and let them have their purchases. The night of 9-11 I went in the store, he had been crying. He was so upset with the attack and worried his friends and customers would think he and his people were part of the attack.. The customers were very understanding which he greatly appreciated.
