1. Huh?

She didn't accuse the media of treachery?

She didn't name herself the empress of a reconstituted Prussian empire?

She didn't blame the obviously witless mayor who had apparently spoken earlier?

She used numbers in a way that his correct and that most intelligent Germans could understand?

What kind of government leader is that?

18. Plus,

she apparently can’t even speak English. Who elects people like that?

20. One word for you: Covfefe

Apparently the answer to your sarcastically posed question is: 46% of the US electorate...

2. Thanks for posting this, BeyondGeography.

We, too, can benefit from the example she sets and the data/info she discusses.

8. Awhile ago I watched the video of Obama

reacting early to H1N1. He also sounds like a world leader.

Trump's ongoing response is closer to Idioacracy.

13. Yes, another competent adult. Why of why did we get trump?

That last bit is rhetorical of course—Putin, repug cheating and vote suppression, Comey, too many stupid voters and on and on being the real reasons.

10. Yet another reason I'm glad I'm in Europe.

The way that pmurT is handling this, I'm thinking that every European country will consider closing borders to or imposing extremely strict visa requirements for Americans.

23. Good god I hope not

for my own selfish sake. My partner lives there. I have some loose ends to tie up here before we can apply for fiancée visas. I haven’t seen him since December.

12. That's how it's done. She's now the real leader of the free world.

We are so screwed with the orange imposter lying his ass off everyday to cover up his horribly bungled response to the virus, which continues.

15. Listening to Merkel and Ardern is so comforting.

They are talking in calm, modulated tones. They both are using plain language to clearly explain what the plan is and why it needs to be that way. There is no puffery and grandstanding, there are no histrionics, no blame games, no whiney "it's not my fault!" They don't talk about themselves at all, just the facts and the plan to deal with the situation. It's disappointing when they finish speaking, because realization sets in that all of that is directed elsewhere. We're stuck listening to a spoiled brat with more issues than a library periodicals section, a moron who couldn't plan his way out of a paper bag.

*sigh*

I wish she was going to run again.
