Bashir: Look, Mitt Romney's going to hell..

Bashir: Book of Mormon promises ‘eternal damnation’ for Romney’s lies
....................snip

The MSNBC host (Martin Bashir) pointed to disputed claims that Romney’s campaign had not sought the endorsement of Ted Nugent, that there was a “vast left-wing conspiracy” by the media to defeat him and that President Barack Obama promised to keep unemployment “below 8 percent.”

“It is something that the president had never written or said,” Bashir pointed out. “Mitt Romney prefers to tell lies, which brings us the moral codes of Mormonism that Mr. Romney claims to live by.”

According to Section 63, in verse 17, of The Doctrine and Covenants of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, “[T]he fearful, and the unbelieving, and all liars, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie, and the whoremonger, and the sorcerer, shall have their part in that lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

And the Book of Mormon’s 2 Nephi 9:34 says, “Wo unto the liar, for he shall be thrust down to hell.”

Bashir concluded: “Given what the Book of Mormon is clearly saying, Mr. Romney has but two choices. He can’t either keep lying and potentially win the White House, but bring eternal damnation upon himself or he can start telling the truth. The question for him, I guess, is which is more important?”

2. i suppose I'll have to read the Book of Mormon one of these days

One of the things I did admire about them was their lack of an eternal hell pit. Most will claim the "many mansions" type of heaven, the only difference being the location and size of one's real estate depending on whether or not one was a Mormon and lived according to Mormon rules. Suits me, I'm used to living in shacks down near the rail yard.

Now you tell me that they do send the rest of us to the same hell the nuns tried to terrify us with in Catholic school.

How very disappointing. Now all I have left to admire are the thriftiness and the 6 months of food supplies every family is supposed to have on hand in case of disaster.

I would say living with Romney must be like hell on earth. Of course, his own family thinks he is "charming."

By the end of the first debate there will be smoke and little gears coming out of his ears.

By the end of October he will be up on the roof pooping down the chimney.

And this is the best the Repukes could find. Res ipsa loquitur.

if that was the GOP nominee running against Obama. Their hate is way stronger than their common sense.

9. I know of 3 other commandments he has also broken

He's definately broken #1 - "Thou shall have no other Gods before me". This isn't about the Mormon faith but about things that Mitt worships even moreso than God and that's money. Mitt's #1 diety is the almighty dollar with oddly enough worshipping himself as #2.

He's also lost it on #7 - "Thou shall not steal". WHat he did with Bain Capital and looting those pensions and offshoring all those jobs, to me that is stealing. He might as well stole some granny's purse or held up a liquor store. And the reason he stole like he did was to satisy #1, his god the almighty dollar.

He's also blown in on #10 because let's face it - Mitt doesn't want to be president he covets the position in a very creepy stalker like way.

Pols, who use religion,Gawd and Jazuzz as crutches, actually believe the tenets, the most basic ground rules,of the religions they front for.Do they even actually believe in the gawds they so fervently represent?

I mean,if one REALLY believes the Heaven and Hell thing,WHY would one then set out to violate every religious law and commandment?..WHY would one do the direct opposite of what their Jeebus said to do?...WHY don't the feces flinging, knuckle dragging, bible quoting, run of the mill evangelicals note these contrasts?....

I just don't get it....The two scenarios that makes any sense at all to me hold, that they KNOW their gawds don't exist.....Or....They expect to become so filthy rich that they'll simply bribe their way into whichever gawds Heaven they choose....

I don't believe for a minute that he is 'religious' enough to follow the rules. Lots of fakes like that, especially moneyed fakes.

The suicide bombers aren't Muslim. Islam is a peaceful religion, although I can't really say the same about Christianity in historical practice, the teachings of Jesus are diametrically opposed to what the extreme right Jesus freaks want to do. But all religions have a code of ethics, a way to treat others. Those who know nothing but personal ambition or hate can't follow those codes, but they are free to claim allegiance to the religion of their choice even if they don't follow it. I claim no religion, but I know what ethics are and I follow that path as best I can.

15. Bible verses on lying.

Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die:
Leviticus 19:11 You shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
Psalms 119:163 I hate and abhor lying: but your law do I love.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Proverbs 13:5 A righteous man hates lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and comes to shame.
Proverbs 14:5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
Proverbs 17 Excellent speech becomes not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.
Hosea 11:12 Ephraim compasses me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet rules with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Zephaniah 3:13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Satan--the Father of Lies
John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stayed not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.
Colossians 3 Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;
1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
James 3:1 My brothers, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers, and idolaters, and whoever loves and makes a lie.
