Once there is a COVID-19 vaccine, YOU will be the last one to get it.

Saw an interview with a german medical expert a few days ago: Research for a vaccine is making good progress and he expects it to be ready within a few months the latest.

However...

Making a few milliliters of vaccine in a lab and making it by the liter in a biochemical factory are two different things. Modifying existing plants to mass-produce the vaccine will again take precious time.



The expert said, when the vaccine is out, the first to be immunized against COVID-19 will be medical personnel.

Take your guess who comes second: national-security related essential personnel. Cops, fire-brigade, soldiers...

Take your guess who arranges preferential treatment for themselves: politicians.

Take your guess who bribes for preferential treatment for themselves: the rich.



And after that?

Who will be the last to receive the vaccine?

Who is the least important?






Try to imagine what it will be like, when November 2020 edges closer and closer and the Trump administration has to distribute a rare and expensive medical resource fairly to red and blue states.......

The rich will be the first to receive the vaccine.

The uninsured and the poor will be the last to get it.

Even now as we learn who really keeps the economy going. It's the medical workers, the truckers, the cashiers, the delivery drivers, the warehouse workers. It's not the investor class, many who are fleeing the cities for their place in the hills or hunkering down in some million dollar bunker. But they will be the first ones to be saved.

the tRump family all have their own ventilator at home. And with test kits in short supply you can bet they have plenty for them.
And, I would also bet that somebody connected to tRump is selling/giving ventilators to his rich supporters ahead of the hospitals.

And of course, the time-honored 'I've run out of arguments and am now exercising my right to be a bullheaded, stubborn idiot' : "I just don't want to..."

Not as high as the rich, of course. I'm a state employee working in a mental institution. Recently my department was furloughed and I was moved into direct care. I now rotate between grounds and community homes.

I'd rather my daughter have it first.
