US 'wants 3M to end mask exports to Canada and Latin America'

Trump’s “good neighbor” policy ....

*****

A major US mask manufacturer, 3M, says the government has asked it to stop exporting US-made N95 respirator masks to Canada and Latin America.

(snip)

In a statement on Friday, 3M said the government had invoked the act "to require 3M to prioritise orders from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) for our N95 respirators", and had also requested that 3M import more respirators made in its overseas factories into the US. It said it supported both moves.

However, 3M added that the government also requested that it stop exporting respirators made in the US to Canada and Latin America.

"There are significant humanitarian implications of ceasing respirator supplies to healthcare workers in Canada and Latin America, where we are a critical supplier of respirators," it said.

Canada does not manufacture any N95 masks domestically, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters on Friday that "it would be a mistake to create blockages or reduce trade".

"There are thousands of nurses in Windsor who work in Detroit every single day, and Americans depend on them. There are medical products and other essential goods that move across the border in both directions... these are things Americans rely on."

interview on Bloomberg this AM. First off, they have two plants that stamp out this masks. Brookings South Dakota and I believe it is Norfolk Nebraska or in that general region, along hwy 81 just south of the Sodak border. The CEO said they sell these masks into a general distribution or wholesale network and do not fill direct retail orders.

As someone who did some purchasing for a major Grocery Wholesale Company years ago,I could not purchase 3M products directly from them, even though their Sales office was twenty miles away, had to go to one of their direct jobbers for my Warehouse Stock.

Now that is were things can get real crappy real fast.

This Orange Anus sucker always needs a foil. And his new foil is 3M one of the most conservative US Companies on the planet.

They doubled production almost immediately across the world when I started to get serious in China. They were able to do this because they had excess capacity already in place. What is more they are already importing more masks then they ship from here, because they are able to surge production in other countries faster, (mainly because of supply chains).

More they ramped up production of all the medical sensitive components they supply to others. It was not only right it made good business sense.

It’s an uncommon type of cedar pulp fibre not made in many places.

So if Trudeau decides to play hardball and halt the export, then what?

Your move, Donnie Two Scoops...

Or rather a hard buy, considering Canada's involvement in the arrest of Huwawei CFO Meng Wanzhou for extradition to the US.

And this is the thanks the orange turd gives us.
