They're networking - White nationalist who wanted to bomb hospital collaborated with another

The suspected white supremacist who plotted to bomb a hospital facing the coronavirus crisis was in touch with a then-active U.S. Army soldier who wanted to launch his own attack on a major American news network and discussed targeting a Democratic presidential candidate, according to an FBI alert summarizing the case.

On Tuesday, as 36-year-old Timothy Wilson was on the verge of trying to detonate a car bomb at a Kansas City-area medical center, agents from the FBI’s field office in Missouri attempted to arrest him. But shots were fired, fatally wounding Wilson, according to the FBI.

Ahead of Tuesday’s incident, Wilson “espoused white supremacist ideology” and “made a threat that if any agent attempted to (search his property) they should ‘bring a lot of body bags,” said the FBI alert, distributed to state and local law enforcement agencies in the region on Wednesday.

The FBI alert also said Wilson had “shared instructions on how to make an (improvised explosive device) with another ... Domestic Terrorism (DT) subject” from near Kansas City. ABC News has identified that other domestic terrorism “subject” as Jarrett Smith, who was arrested in September 2019 while still stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas, as an active member of the U.S. Army.

From last September:

The FBI has arrested a U.S. soldier who allegedly discussed plans to bomb a major American news network, planned to travel to Ukraine to fight with violent far-right group Azov Battalion and allegedly distributed information online on how to build bombs. He also allegedly suggested targeting Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke.

According to charging documents in the case, Jarrett William Smith, who transferred to Fort Riley, Kansas, in July, joined the U.S. military only after first expressing his desire to fight in Ukraine.

On Aug. 19, 2019, Smith allegedly spoke with an FBI informant in an online chat group and discussed a plan for an attack inside the U.S., his search for more "radicals" like himself, and the possibility of killing members of the group Antifa.

In suggesting that the headquarters of the major news network could be a target, Smith allegedly said: "A large vehicle bomb. Fill a vehicle full of (explosives) then fill a ping pong ball with (commonly available chemical) via drilling then injection. Put the ball in the tank of the vehicle and leave. 30 minutes later, BOOM."

The hunting grounds are becoming more suitable for them, as well. They would be poised to exploit any chaos or breakdown that would present them with suitable targets and victims. Ah, thugs.

It is the ones who do not discuss their plans on the internet that worry me.

They try to blame regular, non murderous loners for what these murderous right wingers plan and often succeed in doing to destroy lives.

They aren't "lone wolves." There are far too many of them and they talk to each other about how much they want to destroy America. They get together and plan and often do horrible terrorist act against this country.

When is our government going to acknowledge that they are terrorists? It is as simple as that. They are terrorists. Their actions are the very definition of terrorism, but they are rarely ever called terrorists. Why not?

I am white also, btw. My point is, the racism doesn't stop with the terrorists; it's so endemic and systemic in US society that it usually does not occur to news media to call them what they really are. Government, Republican admins in particular, simply do not want to do so for obvious reasons.

It most likely is. They are terrorists, but because they are white, they get away with it.
