Unemployment Applications Are Being Processed Quickly, even in my red state.

For what it is worth, my lady friend's daughter went online today, applied for unemployment and was basically approved instantly.

She was a part-time worker at a restaurant that had to shutdown last week, at least temporarily. She has two kids. But, this has really helped her feel better about things for time being.

As I understand it, assuming the new Stimulus Bill is approved, she will essentially get what she was making before for at least the next four months.

Purpose of this is to just say it is apparently quite easy to get approved at this time. Not sure that has always been the case in the past.

3. Apparently not. I think they are fast-tracking this right now. I am hearing it from her mom, so

maybe I've missed something. I did read something last week that the proposals were removing, temporarily, the requirement that you had to be looking for another job. I think they get this is bad.

6. Not an attorney, but my quick reading of this article says 10 months isn't necessarily right.

https://www.employmentlawfirms.com/resources/employment/unemployment/how-long-must-i-be-employed-before-being-eligible-for-unempl

Again, not an attorney, but if it were me, I'd apply and not go on someone telling them they had to have 10 months at the job. Good luck.

Here's a brief summary from another website that's a little more concise (there is risk, of course, with brevity).

"You must have wages in at least two quarters of your qualifying period (base period). The base period is the first four quarters (12 months) of the last five completed quarters from the date your claim is filed."
