The richest country in the world needs individual Americans to sew homemade cloth face masks

in their homes. And they’re adding a pocket in the masks so that a coffee filter can be slid in for extra protection. This is disgraceful and embarrassing. Is anyone in trump’s government embarrassed? Apparently not.
PS to all those who have stepped up to do this, thank you! (But you shouldn’t have to)

2. Well, it wouldn't be the richest country in the world

if the wealthy had to give up a small portion of their money to benefit others, now would it?

That's extremely bitter , which I'm sure you figured out.

4. The richest country is going to hand out a paultry $800 to the poor and low income

And maybe NOTHING for those on SS who don't file taxes anymore. Oh...and tell them to have a nice life--and don't expect anything else for decades.

Meanwhile millionaires and Corporations keep their FAT Trump tax cuts and get even more BILLIONS from this stimulus plan and WILL raise prices and rates on consumers. Wait for it,coming soon.

5. I don't think any country is rich anymore

Our debt just went up two more trillion. We are a financially poor country who continues to borrow with no end in sight just like the last 90 years or so.

6. Or how about having one less multi-million/billion stealth fighter

or nuclear carrier and re-purposing that huge amount of money towards the Coronavirus crisis and public good? I'm all for a strong defense but have no doubts we could still totally annihilate any enemy with the defense resources we have.

9. It turns out that there are more things to defend against besides Soviet tanks.

WHO knew that thousands of experts' warnings about pandemic preparation, would be accurate? (Pun intended).

7. That's what trickle down austerity comes to: you're on your own in the capitalist darwinian jungle.

8. That's because the 'president' won't use his powers to help.

DPA

It's disgusting.

10. It's not a rich country.

It's a country with quite a lot of rich people. The wealth of the nation is concentrated into the hands of a few.

13. I have been making masks from heavier cotton...

Double thickness that can be easily washed. No coffee filters in the stores to be had. No Distilled water either. The store shelves ate looking like Soviet Russia.
