Rant...When the workers have to stay home the world crashes

the tiny middle class shrinks a bit more and the ultra-wealthy demand handouts from the taxpayer. Oh, and that we return to work and get back to making money for them as quickly as possible.

At times I wonder why we support a system that doesn't support us?

1. Good question

We could do better than capitalism.

2. Well, no we could not. Never seen a country without capitalism doing well.

Itís the only system that generates wealth. That I know of. Feel free to name one and prove me wrong.

But. And it a big but. Left unchecked it becomes as oppressive as any other system. Which is where we are now.

Which is why I look to Western Europe. They are decidedly not socialist. Private industry is the norm.

What we need is FDR style social Democracy where capitalism is tightly regulated to make sure those with no capital reap the benefits of the system.

3. Tightly-regulated Capitalism was the aim of the Founding Fathers

if my reading of their thoughts is accurate - and I believe it is.

7. One word, pecosbob

UNIONS

They used to be strong and able to negotiate for the rights of the workers.

Today, although some survive, they have fallen to right wing governments, worker indifference, Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity and corruption.

The silencing of unions has silenced the workers.

8. Once we get out of this woods, we should all better realize that

the working class needs to utilize two and three day general strikes once in a while to stop some of the corporate and fat cat insanity that makes our economy so unfriendly to the people who really make it run, the working class.

9. I agree

But it will take a fight like always. The Standing Rock pipeline protest showed that the one percent will go old school...calling in LEOs from surrounding states and hiring private mercenaries.

10. Flip side

Folks work from home and the world survives and so do businesses

And the powers that be figure: why do we have to pay rent to 1% land lords like Trump and Kushner?(for office space)
