needed weekly normal provisions-no meat, no potatoes, no lettuce, no frozen veg, no soup, TP, eggs

we did get a package of 6 paper towels-we usually only buy 1 but that was the only thing they had

we were able to get one small package of Tide Pods-we usually buy the big bucket once a month but not today

there was the cereal I eat-life because it is the best for my system

I had to buy milk in quart sizes because there were no gallons

we were not even trying to stock up.

and we went at 9 after the hour for seniors

1. We had no

milk, beef and paper products. Few fruits (strawberries plentifil, it's picking season) and cleaning products. That was at 7:30 a.m. SW Florida

2. I went to my local independent grocer as usual and they were well-stocked except they were out of

oranges, bananas, TP & kleenex. They had at least a few of everything else, and most items were well-stocked. I managed to snag the last 4-pack of Charmin at Walgreens which was fortunate because I was down to my last two rolls, lol. There were other brands, though. Walgreens had a limit on TP and all types of cold medicine to avoid hoarding. I've got enough stuff that I don't have to go out for at least a couple of weeks if I don't want to.

Edited to add: This is in Lansing, MI

3. It's silly buying patterns.

Yesterday, no cheap beef cuts. On the other hand, if you want ground turkey there was no shortage. In fact, it was like the store cornered the market.

Carrots? Sorry. None. Any size. Need apples and lettuce? Back up your pickup truck, load them in.

People were picking over the remaining poor few 1-dozen cartons of eggs, deciding whether cracked was okay. 10 feet away, a rather large refrigerated case full of 1.5 dozen cartons of eggs, with stacks of additional cases full of more behind them.

The workers were just shaking their heads.

I mean, I can see some patterns being different. Schools closed, kids home, parents need to buy food for lunches.
