Here is MY 7-point proposal for a stimulus package to deal with the effects of the tRump Plague

It will cost trillions, but so what? We have trillions available for war, so why not?

1. A monthly $2500 tax-free grant to every American adult (18 and over) regardless of employment status (unemployed, retired, wage earner, contract workers, gig economy - everybody gets it) with an initial commitment to at least 6 months of checks flowing to all Americans making under $500,000 per year for a household.

2. Medical insurance - any American who loses their health insurance can buy into Medicare at the going premium rate of $135 per month per individual. For a family of four, that would be $540 a month in premiums. You can elect to have the premiums deducted from your monthly grant (see #1). Medicare ends when employee returns to work and secures/resumes health insurance thru employer.

3. No-interest government loans to small businesses (under $10-million a year) and low-interest loans to medium and large businesses, with the possibility of debt forgiveness in the future.

4. 10% cap on all credit card interest, no bank penalty charges above $10 on cc accounts. Encourage banks to aggressively work with customers to move to convert existing cc debt to personal loans with interest capped at 6%.

5. Meaningful incentives to install solar technology on all buildings in the country, lessening dependence on the energy grid and helping people become surplus energy generators, freeing up income normally spent on utilities.

6. Eliminate salary cap on FICA taxes. Additional payroll tax revenue will help fund #2 above.

7. Require all 50 states to adopt mail-in voting for the November elections as the primary voting method, along with designated drop-off locations where people may turn in their ballot on or before election day.

3. Where do we vote if we've been made homeless before November?

4. That could use a little fine-tuning. ...

For example, that $2500 will be riches in some places and pocket change in others.

5. If you're broke, it helps. If you're still employed, it could be a windfall.

I get that.

The problem with fine tuning is that that often leads to a political throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

I would note that my $2500-a-month proposal is much more generous than anything I've heard out of DC.

7. I was thinking about geography ...

For example, here's an article from 2015 on 1-bedroom rentals:
https://www.timeout.com/newyork/blog/map-of-average-rent-by-nyc-neighborhood-is-as-depressing-as-youd-expect-082115

Or, from 2016, national average mortgage payments:
https://www.lendingtree.com/home/mortgage/national-average-monthly-mortgage-payment/

range: $690 in West Virginia to $1784 in Washington, DC

6. Tax all the trading on Wall Street

I remember reading about a bill floating around that would do that

Could be an Warren or Sanders proposal.

Does anyone know about it?

8. I see today that they are talking about a two-trillion dollar stimulus package.

Now, that is realistic.
