For those saying this will last 6 plus months
if your right, there will not be an election in Nov. If there is, turnout will be low, it will be riddled with lawsuits and probably end up in courts.

1. Six months takes us to September. Why would an election in November be postponed?

2. I think if we are seriously self isolated for 2 months
we will knock the active infection rate back to single digits.
Then we can emerge and practice the social distancing and active dis-infection of surfaces... and almost go back to "normal". Then we wait for the vaccine |

3. Many states allow voting by mail, all have some form of absentee voting
and quarantine would qualify, and voting laws can easily be changed or modified.
Heck, Amazon or Uber can pick up our ballots. |

4. There are still 17 states that require a "reason"
for an absentee ballot. I would hope that all 50 states would go to VBM right away and get their systems in place immediately. They already mail out voter pamphlets and sample ballots. Not any more difficult to mail genuine ballots and get rid of the polling places entirely.

5. Quarantined, isolated for public health are reasons.

10. Virginia announced that the present situation was a valid reason.
This was in reference to local elections coming on May 5.

7. We've also seen Democratic governors delay (not shut down) Democratic primaries.
It isn't the first time an election has been delayed. It is rare, but it has happened due to extreme weather (blizzards, hurricane).
This is a flipping primary in a presidential nomination process that has effectively been decided but for the stubbornness of Bernie Sanders. And six months from now is September -- a month after the convention and two months before election day. If need be Congress could change the day from November 3 to a month later and there would be time for the states to count and certify the votes and for the Electoral College to meet. Some people seem to be more invested in freaking out over unlikely scenarios than over the crisis right in front of their noses. |

I have just amended my will to have that engraved on my tombstone. |

that there is mail in and drive thru drops for ballots.

11. The reason why this is probable is the lack of nationwide unrestricted testing that will elongate ..
... the country figuring out who's sick.
