Why Isn't Kirkland Spraying It's Streets? It's Nursing Homes?

Why don’t we see any spraying in outbreak areas in the US?

U.S. disinfectant maker boosts output to ship to China

Decon7 Systems is stepping up production of a powerful disinfectant at six facilities, from three, to fill surging demand from hospitals in China grappling with a virus epidemic, the firm’s founder, Joe Drake, told Reuters on Monday.
Snip
The Scottsdale, Arizona company, which supplies major food processors and poultry farms in the United States, started shipping its hydrogen peroxide-based product to China last year to decontaminate farms infected with deadly African swine fever.

China’s huge disinfectant spraying seems to be working as new case numbers are declining (hopefully true)

China

China spraying all transport vehicles including planes

So what’s in those tanks? If you read the info beneath the YouTube video, mostly bleach & water.

Other countries that spray are seeing positive results. Where is our our army of sprayers? Massive trucks spraying?

South Korea

Japan

Shanghai

Indonesia

2. I remember being soaked in DDT as a child

We would run closer to the sprayers to get souses. I liked the smell.

I’m guessing it wasn’t profit driven back then.

DDT good grief! Every summer for a few years! Back then kids lives outdoors. Sigh

3. Probably bec' it doesn't work very well.

Disinfecting large areas doesn't help much against a virus that we don't know much about yet. It helps the populace feel better - that 'somebody is doing something', and it does help them take the idea of the spreading infection more seriously, but it won't do much to slow anything down.

7. China is very much about psychological decoration. They use it a lot.

And Iguess they think its worth the $.

Not sure about S. Korea. They may be doing it bec' it probably won't hurt. (Except for the impact of tons of anti-bacterials being released int the environment w/ no safeguards.) Or it may be bec' China is doing it.

5. Copy Italy...quarantine the whole country for 14 days

after 14 days the virus will have died out everywhere, non-infected are home free, isolate those who are sick and treat them and be done with it.

6. I think we're going to have a bigger problem

once this is over, in getting people to STOP using antimicrobial wipes and soaps. It's been shown that overuse of these products, especially if they contain triclosan, has been promoting antibiotic resistance and superbugs—which is just as much a public health hazard.

Don't we all remember these provisos from just a few years ago?

Just use plain soap: not the antibacterial stuff (which doesn't affect viruses anyway). It's more effective and less dangerous to the biosphere.

to wash hands often. And have not gotten sick 12 days after getting off a Caribbean cruise.
