Coronavirus is going to come home to roost

For trump. It’s inevitable that the US will grapple with a worsened Coronavirus epidemic thanks to trump.

Unlike other things he can lie about, this will be a signature public disaster for his administration.

His fake news/lies about the realities of this virus will translate directly to unnecessary fatalities

More blood on his hands. I hope media will rightfully and unequivocally direct blame on this one. I’m still doubtful..

it would nevertheless be yet another remarkable turn in american politics, which is famous for giving presidents (especially republican ones) a pass for the rotten things they're directly responsible for and blaming presidents (especially democratic ones) for things largely beyond their control.

true, donnie has already botched the response before the problem even started by gutting the federal bureaucracy, notably including the pandemic response part, long before this outbreak. moreover, his symbolic and actual leadership has proven and will continue to prove woefully lacking. even if we grant that parts of america needed to have an angry clown in office to vent on their behalf when we could afford such a luxury, the whole of america needs a reassuring voice of control and competence at a time like this.

and donnie is singularly ill-suited for the current demands of the office.

covid-19 has a capability of creating major disruption to our social lives and business lives. the stock market is already tanking, so the prospects for investments and businesses are hurting. global trade is starting to suffer, which means recession in europe and elsewhere.

many, many bad things are going to hit all at once *even if* the disease proves to be just a slightly scarier-than-usual flu.

and all this hitting shortly before election.

donnie's tough talk about borders will do less than zero to reassure people.

i really, really wish america would reject donnie because of the things he has said and has done and his twisted vision for america. but i'll take it if america rejects him because he's just not the voice we want in a time of crisis.

before Covid 19 runs it's course based on present humane contact and incubation time period. From days to three week periods.

And with Spring time temps just beginning and the Spring Cold Flu season moves from West to East each year, and our Orange Anus King is so far over his head with his limited Skill Set,the fallout is going to be pure ugly.

any negative effects on the US from coronavirus on China, and it stands a decent chance of being effective. His base will fully accept that explanation, and the mushy middle will be inclined to do the same.

But voters tend to punish the incumbent party when the economy is not doing well.

on how blame can be attributed. Trump and his minions will make the point that the economy was doing just fine until China's weird food choices screwed everything up. He's done quite a job on blaming foreigners for as much as possible.

people tend to vote their wallets. excuses are one thing, dollar impact is another.

carter got the boot over stagflation and the iran hostage situation. both were blatantly and obviously not his fault.

stagflation arose from open oil shocks and nixon's inept handling of it, followed by ford's pointless "whip inflation now" do-nothing campaign. the iran hostage situation was obviously a function of a foreign anti-america revolution.

but he got the boot, largely because the economy wasn't doing well.

covid-19 is hardly donnie's fault, but he'll pay the price for a sucky economy is we have a recession between now and november.

That's the issue with the selloff right now.

He has no plan and he knee capped the CDC since hes taken office, that's going to make this so much worse.
