Why don't Sanders or Warren say that universal healthcare would liberate people from their boss? This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the General Discussion forum). Yes, we need affordable care for all. But most people don’t ever experience medical bankruptcy. Most, however few like they must shut their mouth at work for fear of their healthcare. Time to liberate the people from employer-based care if they want.

5. Thanks. I didn't know that. I follow the news and I rarely see that angle promoted.

2. The health industry profiteers are spending millions to scare people,
and trying to attack MFA as unworkable.
MFA works in every country that has it, and the US system is a mess, where profit always comes before people. Plus, the health care industries make billions in campaign contributions, also called free speech. |

3. That argument has been made.
It was actually also a bit of a selling point for the ACA.
Actually 66.5% of bankruptcies by individuals is a result of medical expenses. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/11/this-is-the-real-reason-most-americans-file-for-bankruptcy.html You can have medical insurance, even decent insurance, and still have medical expenses that are more than you can afford. I agree that the freedom of movement that a national healthcare payment system would create would be very helpful to people. Both Sanders and Warren have repeated that information in speeches regularly. It likely isn't picked up too much by the media since a lot of the advertising revenue they get is from the pharmaceutical industry, private insurers, etc... |

4. " Time to liberate the people from employer-based care if they want."
Problem is...it's not an "if they want" option. It's mandatory...and you know that.
The VAST majority of insured people have employer based insurance....and don't hate it....tweaked yeah...eliminated....let's call off the election and hand it to the Dumpster....that's what it'll be... |
