It's an account of the drug wars that have been ravaging Mexico for over 40 years now. I found it riveting.

I read that FX is planning a weekly series based on these books. My fantasy was a limited HBO series but I'll take this.

Winslow also wrote Savages, which Oliver Stone made into a movie. I preferred the book.

The Gentlemen's Hour, was obviously not meant to be the last we saw of him.

Both were written subsequently to The Power of the Dog.
He got back to Art Keller ten years later with The Cartel. And it being such a compelling story to tell he put himself into it. Wonderful trilogy. I highly recommended it.

But I do hope he gets back to Boone and his pals in San Diego.
