(258 posts)Loved the ad and it should play well here in AZ but fuck Barry Goldwater. Went to Barry Goldwater high school here in Phoenix actually. Calling him a hero is laughable. Only good thing about him was his landslide defeat in the Presidential election.

(9,819 posts)Unlike today's GOP Goldwater put the country above partisanship, showing Nixon the door and promising a guilty verdict if he didn't leave voluntarily. He was pro-gay rights, pro-choice, and anti-fundie during a time when the GOP was veering far right on social issues. Yes, he was way too conservative for voters in '64 but eventually mellowed out. The anti-McSally ad seems to be aimed at those GOP-leaning independents who have had their fill of Trump and those who aid and abet him. Hence the reference to McCain and Goldwater as being mavericks, a distinction that Trumpist McSally comes nowhere close to.

(3,739 posts)And I can't wait to relish her defeat again. Damn bitch. She is a heinous corporate trumpian hack. If I think of her too long, I end up donating to Mark Kelly again. Lol I have donated to him more than any other candidate in the history of ever. I worry that the GOP will pull her out and run Doucey Douchebag instead, though.

I hope the voice artist who did this gets LOTS of work from our side. I could practically see the contempt in her voice through my ears.
