Trump withheld military defense funds from an ally that is at war with out enemy and that this particular ally is guarding the doorway to Europe from Russian incursion. That is not only a fact but it is wrong, impeachable and treasonous.

Danylyuk said he first found out that the U.S. was withholding aid to Ukraine by reading Politicos article published Aug. 28. ...
I was really surprised and shocked. Because just a couple of days prior to that I actually had a meeting with John Bolton. Actually, I had several meetings with him. And we had extensive discussions. The last thing I had expected to read was an article about military aid being frozen, Danylyuk said. After that... I was trying to get the truth. Was it true or not true?
Danylyuk said that it was a panic inside the Zelensky administration after the initial news broke, saying Zelensky was convinced there had been some sort of mistake. Danylyuk put in calls to the National Security Council and asked other officials in Washington what to make of the news.

I believe that "big picture" point, geopolitical in nature has been largely lost in the proceedings. It is a point that made impeachment urgent and should certainly figure into the analysis of those evaluating this pResident's misdeeds there.
I digress, but this is what we get when it is amateur day in the White House. The deficiencies and outright acts of idiocy are endless.

Jacob, Christ's grandfather, was a Kurd.
Oh, that is not important. Never mind.

(2,804 posts)it was Republicans claiming that Democrats were too friendly with Russia? And Democrats rightly accused Republicans who made that claim of being extremists?
Now the Republicans are saying the same thing about Democrats!
This all might seem a little eery until you look at the difference between then and now:
Those golden age Republicans were, definitely were, extremists; they were John Birchers, they were neo-fascist propagandists like Phyllis Schlafly, and worse, McCarthyites. And today's Republicans are shamelessly and publicly chummy with and beholden to Russia. (If there were only an afterlife! Joe McCarthy and Phyllis Schlafly would be rolling over in their graves if they could see and hear what their 21st century spawn have morphed into.)
(Hey, Joe! Phyllis! Did you see the visit by 7 of your descendants to Vladimir Putin's Russia on the 4th of July where they had closed-door meetings to discuss the best ways for Russia and America to work together? And what about Mike Pompeo's scorn for our ally, Ukraine, telling NPR that nobody gives bleep about that nation that was desperately awaiting military assistance from us in its war against Russia? Oh, c'mon you guys, don't beg me to stop! I haven't even mentioned Helsinki yet!)
