Was this the greatest political convention ever held?

Or what?
OK, modern conventions are 100% staged theatrics, and there's never any real drama.
But as such...this one was a fuckin' masterpiece!
Neither Tampa or Charlotte dog & pony shows were expected to yield much of an advantage, but we should expect a significant

I so hope that our President will elected again. I hope to help some people sign up to vote. I'm looking forward to it.

After storming out of the 1912 Republican National Convention in Chicago in protest of what they considered to be the heavy-handed tactics and straying from progressivism of the supporters of William Howard Taft, Theodore Roosevelt and his supporters formed a new progressive party which came to be called the Bull Moose Party.

"The Bull Moose party platform - "New Nationalism" - included direct election of U.S. Senators, woman suffrage, child labor laws, old-age pensions, and other social reforms."

But I imagine 2008 was a zinger, wasn't it?

But I must say, it ws just so expertly put together, cohesive, each and every speaker carefully chosen and speech on topic and well crafted. It was a thing of beauty.

I think in the future when people talk about conventions, this will be the one they point to as an example of what a convention SHOULD be, the one that all others will be judged by.

And every frickin' speaker was great, with a very high percentage of them ON FIRE, KICKING A-- AND TAKING NAMES. Not a bore in the bunch.

So yes, from my perspective, best ever.

Well, ETA: I could h ave done without Villaraigosa. He's my mayor and I simply can't stand him. I don't dislike his policies but his demeanor and personality and philandering makes me want to hurl.
