..Has anyone given thought to moving to Canada..

..if Trumps re-elected and we dont get the Senate? Hubby and I have.. hes a pharmacist and has already checked on licensing up there. We are in Wash State so only a few ours drive. I fear Trumps going to close both borders for travel in and out. These fences may be to keep us in as well as others out. Our Passports are up to date and all but one dog has all his shots.

It'll just take me years to clean out the garage

Only thing I have going is my house is where Mels Hole is reputed to be so I think if I list it with the paranormal groups Ill get a good price and sell quickly. That and its on 5 acres of forest with a trout pond and a creek...deer, turkey, cougars and rattle snakes all come with it too.

Financial status, bilingual language requirements in certain professions, age, employment offers in Canada, and which geographical area you want to live are among the many factors in how the Canadian government evaluates your application. It isn't a matter of just packing your belongings.

Did you see the piece on how Meghan, but not Harry (age, lack of demonstrable job skills) would likely have to apply for Canadian residency?

It isn't at all that easy.

I never in my wildest dreams ever thought I'd have this type of conversation with my spouse/friends/family. But I have and it saddens me to no end.

Like you, I am thinking about what if any changes I'd make if Trump were to be re-elected. But they will likely be personal goal-related changes rather than geographic. But to answer your question, I do ponder it.

Ever since nov of 2016. But we’re too old (67 and 68). Medicare doesn’t travel. My college roommate moved there years ago and it is more expensive there, especially if you have to buy health insurance. My grandmother was born in Ontario but that’s not good enough anymore, it has to be a parent to even try to get citizenship. Some senior retirees will buy a place in Canada and also one in Florida or Arizona and split the year, keeping citizenship for Medicare but we don’t really have that kind of money. I read if you are a retired, plan on having a million dollars to take with you. I keep telling my nieces, look to Canada but I don’t think they’ll go. Well, maybe when one finishes her doctorate in biology with her boyfriend who is a CPA they could get in. If you’re going to go, depending on the results of the election, you’d better have some skills and have already looked for a job, even just to get an idea. And bring money. A lot of it.

I’ve been working at this for a couple years now and for a variety of factors, this year it will happen. I’ll vote absentee of course, as I’m not giving up my citizenship.
I’ve wanted to move to Europe since I was about 10. It’s been 30 years in the making. But it has very little to do with Dolt-45.
