The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles - This is as close to abdication as it getsLink to tweet This is as close to abdication as it gets for Meghan and Harry. Good@luck to them. Let's now have a constitutional convention to slim the size and limit the powers of the monarchy - and while we are at it: Leveson 2 👇🏽
Good for them: From the Palace: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for Royal duties. -------------- The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home. [link:https://www.royal.uk/statement-her-majesty-queen-0| Interesting that they will not use their titles - does not mean that they will not keep them - keeping the door open to re-enter the firm at a later date is my guess.

1. I wish them well.
Not sure any of this matters to the rest of us.

2. I don't think it makes any difference to anyone but the royals.
For Harry and Meghan, I think it's more about making them feel better about their station in life. But I think they'll find that people will still see them, or at least Harry and offspring, as royal anyway. Oh well, I'm not British and there are little nuances to all of this that I don't quite understand. I tell you one thing, though, I would take his title (I'm a very distant relative) and go live over there. I wouldn't think twice about it.
