Trump plans to divert $7.2 billion from Pentagon for border wall construction: report

President Trump plans to divert $7.2 billion from the Pentagon to go toward border wall construction this year, an amount five times greater than what Congress authorized in the budget, The Washington Post reported.

This would be the second year in a row that money is redirected to the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border from military construction projects and counternarcotics funding.

The administration will take $3.5 billion from counterdrug programs and $3.7 billion from military construction funding, according to internal planning figures obtained by the Post, compared to $2.5 billion and $3.6 billion, respectively, last year.

The Defense Department told The Hill that it deferred to the White House to comment. The White House did not immediately return a request for comment.

2. Take the checkbook away, snip the credit cards and close the accounts

He's going to keep stealing as long as the temptation is there.

3. It's money well-stolen.

We can no longer afford to do everything, so let's focus on doing some dumb-ass thing that only Donald Trump thinks is important.

And just remember how much more expensive it would be if Mexico weren't paying for it!

5. Congress should cut the defense budget that much next year?

I guess they don't need it.

6. That is step 1

Step 2 - Ask for larger Defense Budget

Step 3 - Accuse Democrats of being anti-American for denying our troops needed funds.

win-win-win... if he gets away with it.

8. Do we have receipts from wall construction LAST YEAR?

Do last years receipts for wall construction match what he stole from the military last year? I keep reading only 100 miles of work was done last year and that was "refurbishing" not new construction.

Can we see the proposed work and bids for this year's work, when? And as soon as payments start to a contractor this year can we see the contracts and payment schedule?

9. Could Congress go to court again as the excuse last year was Trump alleged it was an "emergency."

How long would the Court recognize an emergency?

Also, could Congress allocate the full amount to The Pentagon and The Pentagon immediately allocate the money to its projects (into bank accounts) and therefore, nothing for Trump to steal?
