Tom Brokaw was discharged from a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday after he reported feeling light-headed on the set of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" and was taken to be checked out in an ambulance.
After medical evaluation and a round of tests, Tom was pronounced in great health and has been discharged," NBC News President Steve Capus said in a statement. "We're immensely grateful to the team at Carolinas Medical Center for their excellent care and professionalism.

(7,768 posts)I thought that maybe he had been up all night drinking or something. They cut to him, he said something kinda bizarre, they broke away, then he was GONE. I knew something was wrong then.
I don't know what Ambien is.

(75,480 posts)lack of sleep the night before, and the usual dose of medication in the morning can send someone over the cliff where it wouldn't ordinarily.

(20,776 posts)one say that Brokaw had a heart attack and collapsed while on set, so when I got home I scanned the News here and on DU and saw nothing, but this story popped up.. and so, I am glad it wasn't a heart attack, for the record the idiot who said that, said he saw it on FOX NEWS.

(5,756 posts)I know someone who took it and then cooked an entire meal in her sleep. She didn't realize it until the next day when she found all the dishes in the sink.
