(23,525 posts)He voted for Obama but he also voted for a republican senator Kirk here in IL. He said that the dems are at a disadvantage having the second convention because people are bored with political speech . Then he texted me after Bill Clinton's speech saying it was the best speech ever!

(85,986 posts). . . but this convention has thrilled me to the core. Very inspiring, at least to me. I'm thinking that I can't be alone in that.

(13,141 posts)In case you didn't watch that part -- each state had a small group
from their delegates visible on camera as they made statements
and gave their votes to Obama. Each state, each group of people,
had a unique cultural look - and it really struck me for the first
time how vast the diversity of this country is, from north to south
and coast to coast.
I haven't heard anyone mention the speech by pres of Planned
Parenthood -- I thought she was presidential, frankly. Cecile Richards

After that horse and pony show last week - it's nice to see human beings speaking.
Adding (he's from Italy - was living in Paris and Florence in the 1990's and doing artist in residence in different countries) - I see (after Bill Clinton's speech) why you liked that guy so much.
