Message from the latest "Star Wars" movie: the people defeated the Empire.
Saw "Star Wars" yesterday, and a message kept coming up: people -- everyday people, not an army -- joined up to defeat the Empire. Lando Calrissian said it a couple of times and repeated it later when it became obvious. Don't want to post any spoilers, but all it took was paying attention in order to get the idea.
What a message for right now.

1. So telling us that regular people, not an army rose up to defeat the Empire is not a spoiler.....

3. I saw it yesterday as well. They kept pointing out that there were
more rebels and supporters than there were Siths. I kept thinking we need to adopt something like that as a 2020 motto: There are more for good than those supporting evil.

5. And the other corresponding message was awesome too:
They (the bad guys) make us think we're all alone- but we're not.

4. Yup
I remember there was another scene when (paraphrasing) one of the baddies was asking which army was attacking them and another one replied that it wasn't an army, just the people.
And on a side note: *Why* did it take them so long? The Resistance sure could've used their help in the last movie when they were getting slowly wiped out and nearly exterminated by the First Order? Ah well. Better late than never, right? ![]() |

6. Why did it take them so long?????
The entertainment-industrial complex, of course. All a plot to make money from wars even if they're fictional.
