10-12 Moderate Dems want Censure over ImpeachmentLink to tweet ?s=20 Censure is pathetic. It's a slap on the wrist that tells Dictator Donny, "You were a bad boy. Don't do it again or you get timeout!" This will also give Republicans strong talking points that even Dems weren't united against Trump. When even some Democrats refuse to uphold the Constitution, this country is absolutely doomed. I have no optimism or hope for this country. We are heading into dictatorship territory. If I had the means, I'd be moving out of this country immediately.

of them who won in 18.

8. Without rule of law or a contained POTUS, pardon my French, but who gives a FUCK about the house?
So we took the house, we got to chair the committees.
We uncovered MASSIVE, impeachable offenses and violations of the oath of office for POTUS. Now we want to slap him on the wrist and quit because there are too many rubes in the home district that just aren't sure? If there are no consequences - even ones that will only become obvious in history books and after the fact - then I don't give a fuck about controlling the House alone. Truman was right - people will always vote for the Republican over a Democrat trying to act like a Republican. Primary them all, excise the dead ideological weight. |

20. There are not going to be any consequences as the Senate GOP scum bags are not going to
convict...and taking the house probably saved the 2020 election. We need the House and the Senate to restore the rule of law...and we need to kick Trump to the curb.

If we just censure we are saying treason no big deal.

10. Do you want to watch Dictator Donny become a real
dictator, ending any pretense of us being a Democracy?
Censure is the same as giving him a golden ticket to do whatever the fuck he wants to. It tells him that there are zero consequences for any action he takes. Just think of what he'll do if congress tells him explicitly (by censure, which is essentially a note in his "permanent record" ![]() |

14. They aren't moderates, they're idiots.
They can push censure all they want but it won’t save them at election time. Repugs always prefer to vote for real repugs and not weak Dems.

4. Identify them by name and start primary challenges to them all tonight.
That is EXACTLY the kind of weak, non-thought out acceptance of GOP bullshit that makes me loathe certain elements of the party in general. FUCK THEM, leave....now....here, haul ass and take your shitty ideas with you.
Don't want to stay with the team on defending the rule of law and that thing called the Constitution? Want to rubber stamp Executive crime and extortion as "A-OK"? Want to capitulate AGAIN and paint the party as lacking devotion or courage of conviction? Good, get the fuck out and I hope the door slaps your bitch ass on the way out. Trump broke the law AND violated the Constitution. Repeatedly. This Ukraine thing is just the most blatant AND stupid. He wipes his ass on the rule of law and people want to go easy on him? I don't think so... Well, if you are worried about re-election NOW, before the vote and the next campaign...you are going to live in abject TERROR for the rest of your short political career because I will find like-minded individuals, and we will hunt down your donors and party backers and we will primary THEM too unless they cut you loose and expel you from the party in general. NOT ONE CONGRESSPERSON form the party should vote against the articles of impeachment and if they do, they MUST be run out of the party for handing the filthy GOP a "bi-partisan" talking point. Seriously, I have less than no use for this thought process or people who think its a great compromise...you don't stumble on a murder scene, see the killer put the gun in his back pocket and then offer a manslaughter charge to avoid a divisive trial, even if the killer's cousin is the judge, his 12 inbred other cousins are the jury and his mom is bailiff. |

24. names please...
I don't believe the Republicans will do anything but help Trump, but, it makes no sense to stop the train before it gets to the station. I read of one person who had considered the censure way, but has come back to the impeachment fold. I don't really care, except for the possibility that Americans might learn something.
