republican party has become. His defense of the republicans is minimal,at best,
Perhaps he is getting to the point that he is tired of the overt racism within the republican party

(15,394 posts)I'm not sure either could announce a switch of parties or that they are voting Obama. Reason is the same as why some black and Latinos join the GOP. Since there are so few, they can shoot to the top quickly. MSNBC needs a "Colmes" to balance out the rest. A couple of republicans so they can say they have republicans on their shows. But they couldn't stand a crazy republican who would shout above everyone and take over the show.
Schmidt and Steele are perfect for MSNBC. I suppose Fox said the same thing about Colmes.

He's still repub and won't change that, IMO, but I do think he really wants his party to be more inclusive.
