Barr Suggests Impeachment Inquiry Undermines Voters' Intent
WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr on Friday vigorously defended President Trump’s use of executive authority and suggested that House Democrats were subverting the will of voters by exploring whether to remove the president from office for abusing his power.
Mr. Trump campaigned on a vow to upend Washington, and voters were aware of his agenda when they elected him president, Mr. Barr said. “While the president has certainly thrown out the traditional Beltway playbook and punctilio, he was up front about what he wanted to do and the people decided they wanted him to serve as president,” Mr. Barr said in a speech at a conference hosted by the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group influential in Republican politics. Mr. Trump’s opponents “essentially see themselves as engaged in a war to cripple by any means necessary a duly elected government,” Mr. Barr added. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/barr-suggests-impeachment-inquiry-undermines-voters-intent/ar-BBWPxaq?li=BBnb7Kz Barr is so full of shit if you gave him a laxative there'd be little left. Will of the voters my ass. More a quirk of the electoral college.

27. Exactly - they need to stop the bullshit about overturning voters intent yada yada yada
As others have mentioned. The majority of voters intent was not Trump. So there's that.
Secondly, the purpose of the impeachment clause is to overturn the damn election when we have a president that is proven to be unfit for the office. So stop the bullshit. He has clear violations of his duties of his role as president. I doubt that he will be removed. But he deserves to be impeached. |

6. Barr forced me to consult a dictionary.
Punctilio-a fine or petty point of conduct or procedure.
Now that I have said that, I will go take a crap in the bathtub and wipe my ass with the shower curtain to change the playbook and punctilio of this household. |

Were the voters aware of his treasonous Russian agenda when they elected him president, Mr. Barr?

8. the intent of the people was quite obvious
Hillary won by almost three million votes.
So yes, the people did decide who they wanted to serve as president, and it WASN'T the vacuous turd. Only after allowing the coyotes and groundhogs to weigh in (which allows the one person one vote to become a joke), along with highly suspicious results in exactly the three states that would allow the turd to take the EC.... (which, SURPRISE, also had russkies hacking into their voter data base) did the orange anus steal the election. The EC is NOT the people. The peoples intent was thrown out the window. The EC also needs to be thrown into the trash heap. Barr had nothing to do with the election (other than to justify the stealing of it...), but he needs to be in jail. |

18. Thanks. I was going to say something similar but you summed it up nicely.
The forefathers are turning over in their graves and scratching their heads at the GOPs complete capitulation to a dumbass like Trump, without firing a single shot. They can't believe that one of the two major parties assisted Trump in selling out this nation and our allies to Russia for less than 10 pieces of silver. This is treasonous.

10. Those who have followed the
Federalist and the Bircher's have feared this day when someone of Barr's Stature would be appointed AG.
Still recall our discussion in Polly Sci about this happening and as we discussed,it is playing out in real time. Folks,Barr is going to do what ever he thinks to protect Moscow Don. He knows damn well if he is ever charged with a crime down the road,he will cop a plea or have a Trump Pardon in his pocket. |

15. How so,
The Mid Terms the American people voted for the Democrats , a Democracy works that way ,they voted so much they took control of the House. With control they have the constitutional duty to those people who voted them into office for oversite, and to hold people accountable, even a corrupt president. Barr should be worried as more trump minions get sent to prison. 2020 Democrats will have complete control and he and ghouliani ,and others including Barr will soon have to answer for their actions, and I think Barr will end up in prison.Barr's just another compromised criminal working for Putin and trump, like with the Epstein problem he was involved in. Barr will be sick when he realizes he'll be held accountable for everything he did too.

16. With any other Prez, there is some truth to that.
I think a Prez is elected to lead the country, knowing that there will be times he/she will take actions that the majority of the country does not approve. That should not be grounds for Impeachment.
But trump passed that line years ago. He no longer deserves that consideration. |

How does replacing Donnie with pence undo the election? Almost exactly the same people vote for Pence as voted for Donnie.

Land doesn't vote and the Electoral College is a broken relic that was designed with the principal aim of maintaining the political power of slave states.
