A question about Lindsey Graham

Graham is a trained and experienced attorney. His professional work included both prosecuting the accused and defending clients.

Graham has said he won't read the transcripts of the committee hearings because he's already made up his mind about Trump's innocence.

When the House votes to impeach Trump, the case(s) will be sent to the Senate for a trial. The Senators will function as a jury to hear evidence and vote whether to acquit or convict. I've served on four juries and during voir dire, I've always been asked if I can have an open mind and judge the evidence without prejudice.

Would Graham have challenged a juror if they had made statements such as his before the case has even been presented?

Lindsey is a complete ass.

2. He knows enough about the law

that he can contort words and use perversions of legal constructs for nefarious purposes. In that way, he's worse than the sleaziest mob mouthpiece you can imagine.

3. Would he? I don't know but...

If the question is "Is Lindsay a complete ass?" then the answer is "Yes."

4. He should be excused from serving on

the Senate hearings. That is what disqualifies someone from serving on a jury.

8. I used to think tRump*/Russians* must have something terrible on Graham*...

... which they might, but I think the thing he really fears is being a nobody. Lindsey Graham is a small man, no, I don't mean stature. I mean on the inside. He seems to need men that are bigger than he is to complete himself. And I think Graham fears the day when he is a nobody: no power, no deference, no privilege. I think Lindsey can see himself alone with no one to pay attention to his every word and deed. And I think he is terrified of being alone and on his own.

10. Raster, it may be worse

than we imagine. He is not alone, not yet, maybe never. Let's play our hand to our advantage.

He is terrified of a primary and general challenger who is well funded.

his Senate seat.

He will have made a complete fool of himself for nothing.

12. It seems like nearly everyone around Trump gets soiled

Why is it that I can see that Trump is an utter fraud but 60+ million Americans cannot?

I'm really not that smart, so what is it?

Graham used to detest Trump.

Strange.

13. Graham is neither an outlier nor alone in the Senate.

He is a bellwether to how at least half of the current GOP Senators are leaning. They are calculating just how to hold onto power and how much it is worth to their patrons.

They are not afraid of an election defending Trump's misdeeds in office. Their only concern is an election they do not control. They are not driven by kompromat fears or doubts about significant funding from Right-wing sources.

They only worry that somehow Trump's family or cadre will disclose important truths about how the GOP actually functions. They have been reassured that Roberts and the other 4 will bend any law to keep overall power in the GOP, and as long as they control the executive and cabinet they can do no wrong.

That's not the only thing he is... and I'll just leave it at that for obvious reasons. Feel free to draw your own conclusions about what it is that I'm not saying.

15. Whatever the Moron has on him, it has him petrified

To the point he doesn't even make sense. This is not the Lindsay Graham that hung out with John McCain. This is a terrified little boy whose afraid because he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and doesn't want his mommy to find out. So he basically is being bullied and hasn't got a clue on how to stop it. Remember South Carolina is Billy Graham territory so whatever it is, it's making him talk like a jackass.

16. Lindsey's playing cheerleader.

He's reminding all of his fellow Senators how they are supposed to think and feel about the situation. If it's too quiet, some of them might start listening to facts and thinking for themselves. We can't have that now, can we?

17. Lindsey Graham is essentially saying he won't do his constitutional duty.

He should resign now. He won't, because he is too feckless. But he is clearly too partisan to do his constitutional duty, and a traitor to the people who elected him, so he should just go ahead and step down now. But even stepping down for not doing his job would be too honorable of an act for Lindsey Graham. He is just a poor excuse for a man, and a joke as a Senator.
