1. David Crosby, DeNiro, Fonda, Sam Waterston, Joan Baez--just a handful of the BOOMER

Celebrities (not to mention the non-celebrities) with 50 years or more of activism under their belts.

Ok, Millenials. This is a fight for ALL generations. Strength in numbers (and generations).

7. I 100% agree.

I'm still recovering from head traumas, near death and major surgery. I'm so excited to start physical therapy and hope it can help me strengthen and improve my range of motion and decrease my pain. I need to get in better shape so I can pound the pavement and sit for hours calling and tracking results for the Florida Democratic party. My surgeon said I'd be feeling 100% better by Christmas, so hoping I can restart my volunteer work by the first of the year.

14. Long story short as I can...

2 head traumas from slip/trip falls within 6 weeks early in the year blew out 3 discs in my neck along so that material along with some bone spurs went into my spinal cord & it was deeply impinged in 3 places & if I fell or had any significant head jostling, I could die on the spot. This got diagnosed at the end of April and needed specialized neurosurgery & dr was booked up 2-1/2 months. 2-1/2 months of anxiety finally ended, had surgery, doing really well then body quit processing drugs within 6 days & I got so sick and dizzy. Lots of time spent trying to find drug free ways to reduce the pain, stop the inflammation & swelling. I am getting better all the time regaining strength and use of right arm. I have a goal and am working towards it.

20. Wow, thank you.

Yeah, my brain was a real problem for a long time but is so much better. It took me 9 months to even start feeling like myself again. Still have some memory issues, but other than that it's just dealing with muscle spasms, nerve pain and general weakness - all of which I am addressing.

Nice people like you are what keeps me coming back to DU so often.

24. It's been a long dark road, but I'm finally feeling some sunlight in my life.

There were many months when I felt like my brain wasn't my own and wouldn't work right, it was extremely scary for someone who has always relied on her intellect to get through life. So many times I wondered if I would ever be me again, I felt like a different person. It took 2 months before I could read more than 5 min.. without getting blinding headaches and nauseous. Took 3-4 months before I could tolerate computer lights for more than a couple of minutes and 7 months before I could tolerate being out in the sun for more than 1-2 min. without sunglasses & a large hat. It's definitely been the roughest thing I've ever experienced. I cried so many times just out of pain & frustration and wondering if I'd ever find myself again. Thankfully the answer is yes, for the most part. With the help of a good neurosurgeon, my family & friends, and my sweet fur babies, I am no longer at deaths' door and can look forward to a better future. It's just so aggravating still having nerve pain & muscle pain recovering from my central nerve cord impingement. Doc says I'm 2 months out from complete recovery, but it's just difficult finding any shred of patience.

Luckily I do have something to look forward to, returning to my volunteer work with the FL Dems. I am also so thankful for DU and all the wonderful people here. You have definitely helped and been part of my recovery.

Love to DU'ers!

9. Kick and rec.

We didn't inherit the earth from our parents or grandparents, we are borrowing it from our grandchildren, down to at least the seventh generation from now. We all need to be involved. Thank you for sharing this information.
