Judgment in Cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

It's not automatic on removal. It's a 2 step process.

There is very little chance that the Senate will vote for removal.

But in the slim chance that things actually get that bad, surely they would want to avoid having to go through it again.

If only we could vote to keep all of his spawn on the blacklist as well. There is probably a bigger danger of one of them riding the backlash.
