3. right, they're not good at telling plausible lies. they're good at sticking to their lies.

they'll tell the lie, they'll get the whole mighty wurlitzer to tell the same lie, they'll never admit it's a lie, they'll call anyone who denounces is a liar, a liberal, a socialist, a traitor, etc.

by doing all this, they can convince "low-information voters" of just about anything. or at least plant seeds of doubt so that they're in a position, later on, to make a small truth or at least a half-truth fit their storyline.

THAT's what they're good at.

that's a game democrats can't play because we never have the kind of money that buys that kind of (sick) loyalty.

targeted at the Repub base.

This is an idea that Philip Zelikow talked about:

The idea of 'public presumption'," he explained, "is akin to William McNeill's notion of 'public myth'...Such presumptions are beliefs (1) thought to be true (although not necessarily known to be true with certainty), and (2) shared in common within the relevant political community."

If they were good liars, no one would know they were lying.

These republican clowns are really totally inept at most everything they do.
Including lying.

You just have to repeat the same lie over and over.
Eventually some people stop questioning it.
