5. Wades into UK election with attack on opposition leader

31 October 2019

US President Donald Trump waded into the British election campaign on Thursday, launching a stinging attack on the country’s main opposition leader and warning Prime Minister Boris Johnson that his EU divorce deal could imperil a future US-UK trade agreement.

In unprecedented criticism of a candidate to be British premier from a sitting president, Trump said that Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn would be “so bad” in the role.

He also urged Johnson to unite with eurosceptic hardliner Nigel Farage, a key figure in the 2016 referendum on European Union membership who now leads the newly-founded Brexit Party, to deliver Britain’s departure from the bloc ...

6. I think the SNP is going to take all of Scotland.

Nicole Sturgeon’s speech at the recent SNP conference was electric. Too bad she couldn’t be UK PM.

If Brexit happens, Scotland will be out of the UK and in the EU and Eurozone within 2-3 years.

7. Says Corbyn would be bad as UK leader

Jamie Prentis
October 31, 2019

The leader of the UK’s main opposition party, Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn, has accused Donald Trump of trying to “interfere” in Britain’s upcoming general election to get “his friend” Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, elected.

It came after Mr Trump said in an interview that Mr Corbyn would be “so bad” for the UK if he became prime minister as the US President gave his support to Mr Johnson. The comments came in an interview on LBC Radio with Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, who Mr Trump appeared to urge to form some sort of alliance with Mr Johnson.

“I have great relationships with many of the leaders, including Boris, he’s a fantastic man. I think he’s the exact right guy for the times. I know that you and him will end up doing something that could be terrific. If you and he get together, it’s [an] unstoppable force,” Mr Trump told Mr Farage over the phone ...

9. Crashes the party

BY ASSOCIATED PRESS | OCTOBER 31, 2019 AT 2:02 AM
UPDATED: OCTOBER 31, 2019 AT 4:38 PM

LONDON (AP) — The opposition Labour Party kicked off its campaign for Britain’s December general election with one overriding message Thursday: It’s not just about Brexit.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn put the emphasis firmly on economic and social issues, calling the Dec. 12 vote a once-in-a-generation chance to transform the country.

Then U.S. President Donald Trump threw a curve ball into the campaign, popping up on a U.K. talk radio show Thursday to slam Corbyn and urge Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson to join forces with arch-Brexiteer and political rival, Nigel Farage ...

10. Just a thought.

Putin can screw things up royally by causing Johnson to fail in the election. He likely wants an ambiguous vote outcome. The best course for Brits is to give the Renainers a resounding victory over Johnson so that Johnson is forced to resign and a new referendum on Brexit be held - Putin is going to fight such an outcome, the best course for him is either more fighting over Brexit, or Johnson winning and taking Britain down the dark, hazard-filled corridor that is Brexit.
