Facebook tells me that it soon will not support my Microsoft browser (Edge)

To which I say I Microsoft is more valuable to me than is Facebook.

"We won’t support this browser soon. For a better experience, we recommend using another browser."

Well, then, fuck off. I REALLY don't need Facebook.

4. I use it on the rare occasion when I have to -

Confirming appearance of a web page on multiple browsers, for example. But not for any substantive purpose.

7. Yes. Exactly the reason I use Edge.

I have pretty much every major browser installed on my devices. I work with web sites, so I need to check them on all platforms in all browsers. What I find remarkable is how many websites appear not to have been tested in that way.

5. Microsoft is discontinuing Edge in its current form.

They'll be switching to another source code, which will probably work better with Facebook. I still wouldn't use it, as I don't trust Microsoft any more than I do Facebook. Their security is untrustworthy, and I find Edge to be useless. I'll stick to Firefox, which now has a "Facebook Container", which supposedly hides your browsing habits from Facebook. It has worked pretty well for me, so far.

11. Do you use any browser with the Blink engine currently?

Just wondering.

13. I use Firefox.

Whether or not it uses the Blink engine, I have no idea.

9. Hmmm

I use Edge also. Just went to Facebook to see if I got the same message.

Nothing.

Was there a link or a browser recommended? Could be a phishing message trying to get you to load Malware.

12. Edge works for me.

If someone has something better, I would like to hear about it?

14. It's probably an update thing

As mentioned above Microsoft is changing its rendering engine from their in-house version, "EdgeHTML", to a Chromium-based one. I'm going to assume your Operating System is Windows 10, which updates regularly, whether you want it or not. I bet that your Edge browser will get updated by the time Facebook drops support for the one you're currently using.

15. My old iPad has had me locked out of FB for months now

One day it just stopped loading. Got the spinning circle like it was thinking.

So here I am. I have to login on this site ever time I want to post. Even if I check the box to keep me logged in.
