I cannot emphasize enough

We are fortunate that we took the house back in 2O18. We would not be here if we hadn't.

VOTE.

Voting is both a right and responsibility.

Thank you for this reminder!

22. Don't be to excited

They have had three years to more than get ready to block a repeat performance.

This election is warming up to be the most corrupt election ever

6. This is important to share with those who think their vote doesn't matter

If Democrats can ever overcome Republicans rampant cheating and voter suppression to take back state legislatures, voting must be made much more easy. Then we will become more of a representative democracy.

7. It wasn't "fortunate" - it was fundraising by Pelosi, a strong message to save and fix ACA,

and some hard work by people all over the country to get out the vote.

16. Plus a whole lot of grassroots work, mostly by women, many of them women of color.

IMO we owe the House to black women.

8. Absolutely!

Thanks for the reminder! We need to be aware of that connection. People forget all the steps that brought us to wherever we happen to be. Keep it up!

11. We're in this mess

because in 2016 Dems couldn't drum up enough enthusiasm for an unexciting HRC even against the worst excuse for a candidate EVER! Stop stomping your feet if your candidate has imperfections and understand the nightmares a Trump like candidate can cause if liberal apathy gets them elected.

12. You better believe it

we would have been in a even darker place than we are now.

People power does mean something. We can do it again too.

15. The difficulty in gettting some people to vote. . .

. . .reminds me of a silly little philosophical notion that I came up with to help me deal with serious depression.

I jokingly refer to it as the "Chinese Menu" outlook, wherein one can choose from columns A, B, or C.

A) The ideal choice. On those dark nights of the soul, when you wonder if you can go on, you remind yourself that life is somehow worth living and that is why you must hang in there.

B) When you can't convince yourself that life holds anything worthwhile for you, remember the people who love you and who would be devastated if you did something stupid.

C) You see nothing worthwhile in anything, and your own misery blots out your concern for the possible sorrow of family and friends. This is now the time to remember all the rotten people in your life who put you down or dismissed you as a total loser. Tell yourself that there is no way in hell that you are going to do something desperate and let them know that they were right. Dig down deep to your anger and stay alive just to piss them off.

In voting terms this translates as :

Vote because you believe in democracy and the hope for a better world.

Vote because the people you care about sort of believe in democracy and a better world even if you have your doubts.

Vote against the bastards out of simple spite and while you're in there give the finger to the list of names on the side that you hate.

21. THERE IS NO BOTTOM!

How low did pol pot go? How low did Hitler go? Stalin? Assad? There is no bottom once they get to a certain point. They're okay with the ripping apart families and caging children. They're absolutely fine with abandoning the Kurds to ethnic cleansing and genocide. They have no problem with any of trump's other crimes.

They are there! They are at that point! There is no bottom!

Prepare to fight for the soul of your country because they are going to get violent.
