When the Republicans impeached Clinton they held 91 House seats he had won, thirty by a majority and sixty one by a plurality, In the current instance we hold 30 seats Trump has won, only six by a majority and twenty one by a plurality.

In the mid terms that followed the Republicans held the House and Senate. They did lose a whopping five House seats. They went on to win the next presidential election despite eight years of relative peace and absolute prosperity.

In fact all three impeachment investigations in American history led to the opposition party winning the next presidential election.

on edit- Clinton's approval rating at Gallup was 68% when the House impeached him and 73% when the Senate acquitted him. Trump's approval rating is hovering in the low 40s.
