1. It depends on what reason they give for that vote, and how believable their statement is.

There is no one-size-fits-all response to such a vote. It depends. It always depends.

I will leave the "toe the party line 100% of the time or GTFO" attitude to the authoritarians (i.e. the GOP).

3. Unfortunately, there will likely be more Dems who vote no than Reps who vote yes.

Trump and Republicans will exploit that for all it's worth, which probably won't be much, fortunately.

6. What if they're in a red state? Risk losing the seat to purify?

PURRRRIFY... MUST... PURRRRRIFY....

19. Expecting Democrats to vote against a criminal presidency is purity?

If that's purity, what are Democrats for? Stakes don't get much higher than this vote, unless you want your party standard bearer slurred with opposition research extorted by the president.

10. They will have a caucus ahead of the vote to determine who wants to vote against it

The odds are they will be in swing districts and if democrats still have a majority vote, they will be allowed to vote against it.

13. If Pelosi has the votes she needs, she won't make Members in tough districts walk the plank

That's why she's the Speaker.

12. If we have Democrat's voting against impeachment because they fear the conservatives

In their area, how is that any different than the Republicans trying to protect Trump in order to please their base? This is well beyond politics. They took an oath when they were elected. Doing the right thing shouldn’t be dependent on their political career.

18. I agree. And it's hard to believe supporting the resolution would have any bearing...

...on their re-election odds. Are there really people in their district who would vote for them but won't if they support the resolution? Maybe there are, but maybe there are also people in their respective districts who are more likely to vote for them if they support the resolution. We're not even talking about impeachment--just an impeachment resolution.

16. I'd give Pelosi a chance to endorse or not

She’s the leader of the Free World at this point. What she needs is what is needed.

21. "They should be primaried"

As if it was as simple as that. It takes millions to primary an incumbent. If an incumbent is in so much trouble that they could lose a primary then someone is going to primary them no matter how they vote. If they are not in trouble then they will not have a primary no matter how they vote. #reality

22. If they live in a bright Red district, then nothing

I get it, sometime they have to do things differently to stay in power.
