that onlookers do something about this kind of behavior; I don't give a damn if he is a policeman, fuck him. This goes beyond anything.

There is no way that this creep would tolerate any interference without pulling a trigger.

He would certainly be beaten up, by this cop and his colleagues who would be called in as backup. He might very well be shot. If he survives the initial encounter, the bystander would then be arrested and charged with a pile of felonies. His bail will be set high as hell, and his case will drag on for years. You can just imagine what that will do to his career, his reputation, and financial security, and his relationships. Even if he wins, he loses.

Dial 911. And then IN TER VENE. Pull the kid away and protect her with your body.

I am generally pro cop (I know, not popular here) but that was unnecessary and unprofessional IN THE EXTREME. That angers the living fuck out of me.

The child was horrified having a man try to get her on her stomach. Her instinct was to protect herself the best way she knew how.

That's what I'm seeing there.

But a person like him should not be policing, he was loud, agressive and seemed to escalate the situation.

Maybe an mental health counselor trained in behavioral therapies would be better suited to deal with the child's challenging behaviors instead of a brutal asshole cop who needs to beat up a child to show her just who is in charge. This makes me ill.

I spent 9 years in care of the N.Y. State Juvenile Justice System from the age of 11 till I was 19, as my parents were deemed unfit,I got good grades in school, never was in any serious trouble with the law, and tried to "do the right thing" most of the time.

As a ward of the court all state kids were required to carry proper ID stating who we were and that we were under state care, this was a BIG problem!

Hand a Nassau County L.I. police officer your I.D. and you were almost always guaranteed to be "cuffed and stuffed" without question. The officer always assumed that you were a troublemaker and treated you as such...it sucked.

From Vox article, https://www.vox.com/identities/2019/10/24/20929397/police-officer-excessive-force-school-11-year-old-girl-new-mexico

[...]

But it was when the girl opens a door that the school principal is standing in front of, brushing against him in the process, that the officer approaches her and begins to use force, claiming that the girl had committed assault as she moved past. Christensen also claimed that the student assaulted him during the encounter, writing in an incident report that “She was very strong, stronger than I was.”
