When Claire McCaskill first started on MSNBC, I was pretty 'meh'.

Today I'm watching her and, IMHO, she is really coming into her element. Her experience and insight is giving her a real sharp edge in her questions and input. So, I've moved my assessment from 'meh' to 'impressed.

A great mix of DC and Middle America insights and sensibilities.

And rolls around.

6. I am thinking her whole problem

Was being a senator in a red state, now she is freed up to be herself.

I felt like she was always riding a fence trying to keep each side happy and with the wide split now that is almost impossible.

10. I would think that transitioning from

politics to punditry wouldn’t be easy for everyone. McCaskill has certainly become more polished in her delivery and she absolutely knows what she’s talking about unlike a lot of her fellow pundits. I enjoy listening to her.

She appears on other panels, too.

14. Well

Not yet, but I wonder if MSNBC will figure out a time slot for her as she as become most impressive. She does not offer just some word salad to fill in the time. She makes her points quickly and effectively. She has made great improvement since starting her career as a pundit a few months ago.

24. I'd give her Andrea "oh but her emails!" Mitchell's timeslot.

And throw Andrea a nice retirement party.

Hey Andrea, Shepard Smith’s timeslot’s available down the street...

22. Maybe not... the jury is still out on Sean Duffy (resigned Rep. WI-07) being hired by CNN

His initial appearance did not go well. Viewers were not impressed or happy.

13. We have to be careful our voices are not too one-sided...

She's a good conserva-Dem with her pulse on those "middle American" values.

There are definitely worse people on the air waves.

We don't have to agree with them, but I believe we need to hear from all sides of the party.

how legal things work, and explaining the realities of life in the Senate. So glad she found this gig.

23. I have liked

her for many years. I live in the Kansas City area and she was in the state house early on and state auditor at one point. She also became Jackson County prosecutor and did a great job. She left that job to run for the Senate. I believe she is very good at communicating to us what is going on now in DC. She is not popular in the rural area unfortunately even though she grew up in rural areas of MO. I was happy to see her join MSNBC.

I did not care for Don Lemon at first - thought he was kind of a lightweight - but now he is among my favorites.

27. It wasn't content - for me it was just more of a delivery style, at first.

It came across, to me, as a little too bland. Admittedly, she was new to that side of the 'panel' and was probably still finding her delivery niche.

It is interesting to hear her interacting with her former Senate colleagues. Her experience sure gives her the ability to craft a good question.
