how much more is needed for impeachment?

we have credible, corroborating, sworn testimony from multiple people, a credible reviewed whistleblow report, media appearances by mulvaney and Giuliani that are basically admissions of guilt, and the damning call notes (the real transcript is still out there).

so realistically what more is needed to deliver an ironclad case to the Senate (besides the actual transcript)......?

1. We probably have enough for impeachment, but Pelosi's going for conviction and removal

And they're not there yet.

11. cool...

i still just doesn't ever see the Senate getting there, but I think she can damage their brand enough to win the Senate in 2020...

i'm still baffled that the GOP, looking at the same polls we are looking at, aren't seeing the freight train coming down the tracks in 2020...... or maybe they are just "putting on a show" for their base but they want the Democrats to do all the heavy lifting on this in sercret?

I don't know......... i find the whole thing impossible frustrating. if they had worked with use we could have impeached him on Russia in 2017............... the only reson why we ever got ANYWHERE is because the voters gave Pelosi the gavel in 2018.

2. 'an ironclad case to the Senate' differs from what is 'needed' in the House.

More time and more inflammatory evidence gets us through the Senate successfully.

5. That he's guilty and needs to be removed is not at issue.

What is at issue is whether or not senate republicans can come to believe they can politically survive removing him.

7. I'm confident we'd impeach in the House next week.

We're working on removal in the senate now. which is a longer process but not entirely out of reach now. Still, it's unlikely but well worth pursuing.

We're literally speeding along at this point. Trump overstepped to a point less involved Americans (the majority of the collective 'us') will eventually be able to understand. Hopefully.

Hopefully, the collective 'us' get off their collective asses ASAP.

8. Honestly, the problem is with every new witness testimony, they find out about

Even more illegal stuff that has to be followed up on. This in turn is making the inquiry drag on and on.

9. First it was why is Pelosi holding up impeachment. Now it is why are they not

finished already.

There needs to be evidence gathering. Then open hearings. They are doing it right.

We want trump removed and not acquitted.

12. Impeachment, I believe, will happen; it's just a matter of when.

I'd like to see a goal of impeachment by 12/31. And while the evidence shown thus far, I could vote for it. I just dont think we have one one tangible event that mostly reasonable people can admit "OK, yea, that's bad!" Something simple and easy to understand (eg email from Trump saying no aid until Biden Jr is indicted in Ukraine, Trump interferes directly in a recorded call with Barr/Durham ordering outcomes in investigations or anything where Trump commits the US to something that benefits Russia, Ukaine, Iran, Turkey or any country whose interests are likely harful to our own. The cases cant be nuanced; rather, they need to be as subtle as a dog with a woody!

I dont want some bullsh*t charge, with all due repect to the House investigation, where the charges are debatable on nuanced interpretation of the law and Constitution by both sides.

I want bubba who works at the chickenplant in complete agreement with the social worker and and with the single mom with all agreeing that "Yeah. He fucked up on that one!" And it would get attention of average Americans.

My wife and I just returned from five nights in Vegas. Pretty much laying by the pool during the day, and going out for a fine meal in evening. One day, we rented a car and it a couple area national parks. Not many, many fellow Americans from all over. Hoked with several, rode a couple tour buses with them, laid by the pool with somes, and even had good dinner plans .

Two observations...
1) getting away from the news is healthy. I was less pissed...most of the time.
2) I've always known we here arent normal ( haha not a bad thing). Politics is extremely important to us. We knownad politicians can have drastic implications to us all...even to the disinterested. ThAT SAID, I didnt find many fellow Americans paying attention. Maybe they will at the right time. WE NEED AN ATTENTION-GRABBING CRIME to wake everyone up. Arcane legal debates wont cut it.

A sentiment I heard whenever politics was broached was "Ol's Trump shaken them up!" Said adimiringly. And then I go to point out things like Russia, Ukraine, emoluments (dumbed down, of course) , I,'d get somrthing like "fuckers are trying to trap him," or "he's got 'em scared!"

Soooo..we need that one proverbial smoking gun..almost literally. Amd we also need to work on the best approach to persuade them without insulting thei intellect and way of life.

Again, I intentially tried to live normally.

13. I think Nancy doesn't want the appearance of a rush to judgement

Yes, there's enough for the House to impeach him right now, but doing so would look to the public like they were being hasty. Let this play out a little more and let public opinion catch up.
